Is longetivity a solvable problem?
Elon Musk says that we are all pre-programmed to die as the body grows old and breaks down. If we change the program, he says, we will live longer. Musk thinks it is a solvable problem. What do you think?

@NativePortlander1970 Agreed. Some of his parts seem to get more than enough friction as it is..But to me, wanting to live too much longer is a sign you havent got it right yet..😷

@sree251 I am going to steal a little here from "Young Sheldon". You are confusing possibility with probability.. It is possible I will go home and find a million dollars on my bed tonight. But the probability is zero..
I am quietly confident that while, if I guess right, my death may cause some sorrow and maybe some inconvenience to my family, I wont be involved any longer. I will have simply had my light switched off and not be involved in anything ever again.. And because I have been fortunate and managed my life to my satisfaction, that thought doesnt concern me at all. My kids and their kids are all self managing and dont need me looking after them. But in the event that I am wrong, I accept whatever comes with equanimity, understanding that if their is a creator on any kind. (Possible but not probable) the idea that my belief and singing of her praises is a really poor basis for judgement of how I lived. I think I got it right the first time and dont need a do over..😷

@sree251 Nowhere near Nirvana. But look what happened to Kurt...My aim has always been to get to the other end with as little regret as possible. And Yes. I do sound pompous even to me. But I had a lot of luck and I never took the easy path. So I feel entitled. PS. Our kids learned by my example and are both successful in careers and as families of their chosen path. Another piece of luck I can feel pompous about.. See? I know I am not perfect and I am OK with that..😷

Aso for the rest, as an Atheist I believe we make our own Devils. And I have put mine to rest. As i said. I dont need to be perfect.. And why would the USA vanish?
