Another point to add to the long list why this logic is erroneous, ICE is not removing criminals from the street, just people with families, own businesses, and are a visible minority. I don't have the data, but I'm sure the majority of people detained by ICE are not murderers.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@AmericanVibes You rehashed your same erroneous logic. Boring. You obviously didn't understand anything anyone said
Oneiric · 26-30
@AmericanVibes Wow. That was poetic. I don't know if its been more than a few hours since I've witnessed someone miss the point to that extent. Now, don't get me wrong, they could have worded their response to fit your perception a bit more accurately. Let me take a stab at it. Every single person you hear of or experience is... wait for it (this is wild)... the same as you. They feel the same things. They love and hurt the same ways. The issue with this kind of discourse is that we find ourselves dehumanizing people based on ideology. All of the lives matter. All of the pain is real. When you use tragic death as a weapon, when anyone does, it is rhetoric. Nothing more. All that do this without acknowledgement that all humans are human (even the ones we don't like) is using tragedy to inspire retaliation. There are healthy ways to communicate, even across the aisle, but this is not one. You feel horrified. You feel that the wrongs are not even being acknowledged. That is valid. You are not crazy for this. So do the ones who see the pain in their fellow humans eyes caused by what you use humans deaths to support. We can talk about policy. We can be reasoned. We can learn about macroeconomics and actually look at cited sources when articles talk about crime. To respond to death with retaliatory death is what makes war. When it is done based on race... there's a name for that too.

By the time I finished writing that, I feel a bit bad about the condescension implied at the beginning. But, being empathetic to the "other" takes it out of you, huh?

Fuck I entirely dismantled my point by being a jackass. Wonder if that's happened before?

@JimboSaturn
ICE is not removing criminals from the street, just people with families, own businesses, and are a visible minority.
Like anything law enforcement, they are going for the easy targets.

It's peculiar because if you watch crime shows, it shows law enforcement doing these deep investigations, flying all over the world look for clues, exhuming corpses, interrogating Mother Theresa, collecting bodily waste and just going to ins4ne measures to solve ONE crime.

Yet in reality, they cannot be 4ssed to do much of anything except the most convenient, easy, least dangerous catches.

ICE is too much of a yellow t*rd to go after v*olent criminals who NEED to be gone, no, they would rather arrest some age 80 little ol blind Mexican lady who couldn't hurt a fly.
Carla · 61-69, F
Sorry to burst your bubble. We condemn all murders of all people. The criminals that perpetrated these murders are or should be in prison.

Murder is murder.

Renee good was also murdered. What will become of her killer? That is what the protests are about.
Adrift · 61-69, F
@Carla But I dont see you guys marching the streets in their names.
In fact your response sounds pretty dismissive.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Read several years ago that the Oklahoma County jail’s inmate population was 25% foreign-born. This puts a huge stress on the jail staff not to mention the money it costs to the legal system and for the county’s jail budget.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
Their deaths are a complete outrage and a disgusting example of violence against women in American society.

The outrage with Renee Good stems from the fact that is was perpetrated by the American government.

Trump has actually defunded agencies like the spousal abuse hotline. It's a shame .
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@AmericanVibes Women who get murdered by fellow Americans don't get marches either. Talk about spewing a narrative.
WestonTexan · 18-21, M
@JimboSaturn Yep. They're only outraged if the killer was an illegal immigrant.

There are protests and marches over Renee because ICE is not being held accountable and because people disagree with ICE's tactics. Renee's killer is likely to get off scot free. Is that what happened to the illegal immigrants who killed these women?

Again, the parallels are not there.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@WestonTexan These MAGA types don't seem to have the mental dexterity to differientate the difference. Or they are knowingly arguing in bad faith.
SW-User
That is a disgusting attempt at deflection. All those murders were tragic, but there is one key difference. Good’s murder was state-sanctioned.
SumKindaMunster · 56-60, M
They don't care. They are locked into their curated choices of social media and that media is telling them that ICE is the Gestapo and are gunning people down with "impunity".

People who don't live in this country, who never leave their homes, and rely on foreign media believe they know exactly what is happening in America.
AmericanVibes · 41-45, M
@kittee They’re not hiding anything. They’re protecting their families and themselves. ICE agents wear masks because their names and faces get doxxed, their homes get targeted, and their spouses and kids get threatened. Agents have been assaulted, followed, and harassed for doing their jobs. If they weren’t facing constant threats and violence, there’d be no reason to cover their faces. The mask isn’t about secrecy. It’s about safety. I guarantee you if they stop getting assaulted and followed every single day they would not be wearing masks.
kittee · 26-30
@SumKindaMunster police and soldeirs dont wear masks,
SumKindaMunster · 56-60, M
@kittee Yes they do.
HoeBag · 51-55, F
The media selects stories, seemingly at random, to rile up the population.

People are murd3red every day, what seems to be a mystery is what stories the media decides to use to make a national headline about.

I remember some months back, a young bl4ck college man in Mississippi was found h4nged from a tree, but very little was said about it. Way more of a h4te cr*me than what happened to that one lady in Minnesota.

If anyone reads this and has any idea about why the media decides to sensationalize certain stories, I would love to hear it.
meJess · F
It is surprising, given the whole world knows that American policing methods can be lethal, that a natural born American would deliberately taunt ICE officials and then refuse to follow their instructions.

The outcome is a tragedy, but an avoidable one.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@meJess Yes very avoidable. Training , profesionalism, ethics, decency
meJess · F
@SW-User no I said it was a tragedy but an avoidable one.
SW-User
@meJess yes it was avoidable. ICE should have minded their own business.
SW-User
As you well know, the vast majority of murders in America (including school shootings) are committed by Americans, not illegal immigrants.

That is solid, verifiable fact.

Sorry if that hurts your feelings.
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@Jenny1234 maybe read some responses
SumKindaMunster · 56-60, M
@WestonTexan
Yeah, kinda ridiculous that people don't understand the difference here. The people who killed these women are deported and/or in prison, as they should be. The person who killed Renee will likely go free and is being hailed as a hero by half the nation. No one was defending the people who murdered these women. No one is saying that illegal immigrants should have the right to kill women, but people are saying ICE should have the right to kill people like Renee. These are not comparable situations.

You're ridiculous. The people who killed these women were here illegally. Had they been removed in a timely fashion, perhaps these women would still be alive.

This is what ICE is doing. They are executing warrants on people who have ordered by a judge to leave this country. Many of them are violent recidivists who have committed rape or murder.

Of course, you and the people you agree with take no responsibility for encouraging protestors to interfere with ICE. They were encouraged to do this. People are still being encouraged.

Familiar yourself with US law on the use of deadly force. Your personal opinion on how law enforcement should behave is irrelevant. It's about what is legal, not what you want.
SumKindaMunster · 56-60, M
@WestonTexan I said nobody cares what you think, not that people don't care about ICE's tactics.

Illegal immigration is a scapegoat for many other, often unrelated problems.

Well that's your opinion manlet. The fact remains that ICE is a legitimate law enforcement organization. You may not like their mission, but you must obey the law when interacting with them.
carpediem · M
@SumKindaMunster Well done. I'm not sure who the hack was you've been sparring with. They must on my POS list and thus blocked.

I would like expand on your comments and state the ICE may be going after the "worst of the worst" now, but ALL illegals need to be deported. They all won't be, but it needs to happen. I don't feel we need to wait until an illegal kills a citizen, then be forced to hunt them down at great expense of dollars and human resources only becase A) Santuary cities don't follw Federal law.... B) Terrible governance by the dems..... and C) Liberal judges and no bail idiocy.
SumKindaMunster · 56-60, M
@carpediem Some mincing pansy with main character syndrome, who thinks TikTok is reality.

Yeah nobody cares to consider that Minneapolis is a sanctuary city who has been flaunting Federal law for over a decade. But they expect ICE and Trump to be held accountable to whatever fever dream they are having that week.
akindheart · 70-79, F
yeah..unbelievable the damage they have done here

Unfortunately liberals don't care about Americans. ☹ What I don't understand is if they hate America that much why don't they move to a country they like better? 🤷‍♂
SW-User
@Musicman You saw the video, and you ignored it because it did not show what Trump said it showed.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@Musicman what is there to protest? Justice was served not so with Goods murder

The only people I see defending heinous murder is the cult, its leader and his minions.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
Oh look another MAGA bot/troll. Probably not even American…
HoeBag · 51-55, F
@trollslayer It is likely a bot.
Social media platforms do this cr4p just to increase engagement.
They have these bots who fabricate stories, people get to arguing, etc.

At some point, social media platforms figured out that the best way to increase engagement was to anger people. Well, you can see the result.

People arguing back and forth unproductively, asking for references, and eventually blocking each other. They they go make a thread about being blocked. 🙄

Plus it is interesting with the bots on here, they never participate on the threads they create.
