REPUBLICAN Congressman Warns Invasion of Greenland Would be End of Trump's Presidency.

Republican Congressman Don Bacon of Nebraska claims a US invasion of the Arctic island might go too far and could prompt his party to launch a third impeachment against the two-term president.

'I'll be candid with you: There's so many Republicans mad about this,' Bacon said on Wednesday. 'If he went through with the threats, I think it would be the end of his presidency.'

'He needs to know: The off-ramp is realizing Republicans aren't going to tolerate this and he's going to have to back off.

Republican Senator Mitch McConnell says

We already have everything we need.

Greenland already cooperates.

Our Arctic access already exists.

What Trump is proposing isn't strategy, it's burning allied trust for nothing.

"Incinerating the hard-won trust of loyal allies" is not strength. It's self-sabotage.

@ElwoodBlues What I don't understand is that Trump claims Denmark can't defend Greenland against Russia/China/Wakanda, whoever he decides. But it's not Denmark's job to defend Greenland - it's NATO's. Right?

@SW-User Denmark and Greenland signed a deal that allows NATO to build any defences on Greenland they want permitted they give prior notice. Like Mitch McConnell said, there is absolutely no reason to own Greenland.
