Two things can be true at the same time, we need a secure border like Trump has given us and ICE is too heavy handed some 500 miles inland. And

That woman should not have been blocking the road in protest of ICE, should not have driven towards the ICE officer closing in on her from the front, also true is ICE did not need to shoot her and should have stepped out of the way instead.

I won’t comment on the minneapolis incident - I’ve done enough of that.

The reality is that there are people whom the court has ordered out but are still here. There needs to be a federal agency authorized to deal with that. Otherwise, why have courts and laws?

Right now that authority is ICE or Border Patrol. Whether you agree or disagree with their tactics, they exist for the purpose i mentioned above.

Abolish ICE? Fine. Then you either need to delegate the authority to deal with the above issue to someone else, or ignore the issue.

Personally, I don’t want to ignore the issue, and I think I am in the majority on this. Personally, I think vilifying ICE as a whole is an un winnable strategy at the moment, and the best way to protect the rights of citizens and non citizens alike would be for local jurisdictions to work with them to ensure they operate in lawful ways (such as sharing of information, coordination strategies, etc). Otherwise, they do what the F they want violently and right now there is not much people can do stop it without making things worse.
