Do left wing Western people say there was no Arab slave trade of blacks, yes or no?

That claim is not made in the US. However, in the US, most discussions of slavery relate to the Atlantic slave trade, where Arab slave traders were only marginally involved.

There's another wrinkle in the "slave trade" discussion. In the US, by the early 1800s, most slaves were born into slavery on the plantation. There was little need to buy slaves off ships. In fact, the Act Prohibiting Importation of Slaves, signed by President Jefferson in 1807, greatly reduced the importation of slaves to the US. Other slave-owning societies, in the Caribbean & South America, continued to work slaves to death and import more, but that wasn't the US pattern.

I'm not going to try and do any moral calculus on whether it's better to be born into slavery or forced into it at a later age. I'm just saying that most of the slave trade in the US was much more local and didn't involve ships.
