Not sure if husband and father means anything. Nor does a career path. Because that path demands certain things.And law enforcement as a police officer is a different animal than as an ICE officer. ICE doesn't protect.
Zero question that his family shouldn't be harassed. That comes from the dregs of society. It's weak and emotional. He should be judged alone and solely on his actions.
But the reality is Noem called this domestic terrorism. It wasn't. And it wasn't self-defense.Three shots inside a moving vehicle is not policy. Deadly force cannot be used to prevent a person's escape. Full stop. And that's what happened.
And on a personal note I don't find being an ICE officer a respectable career path in any way. Doesn't matter in this situation. All that matters is went down. And we SAW what went down. If he walks it's a shot across the bow with a message for Americans. "OBEY or die." That's not who we are. That's not who anyone should be.

@Ynotisay my point was not to gain sympathy for him, but to judge him based upon this event independent if his career path or family status. You are right, being a husband and a father is irrelevant to the event, but unnecessary slander hurts his kids - who are innocent in this.

@trollslayer Agreed.
And by the same token, Demented Donnie’s and GI Gnomes’ libel and slander are unnecessary, incendiary, and highly prejudicial.
There is a valid reason that when violent incidents such as this occur the first statements issued by authorities are quite limited with a promise of updates when more is known.
And that same compassion you asked for Ross’s family members must be extended to Good’s.

@trollslayer The thing is, what you do in life, be they actions or words, always reflect back on others - family and friends. Everything has implications.
Shooting someone dead obviously has implications on the victim, and it has on the victim's family...and as it has on the perpetrator's family.
You lay down with dogs, you're going to get fleas.
So his family will be brought into this too. Not a troll, but his actions...those are the implications. He should have thought of that before firing.
