I said on another post she was probably just trying to get away and not run the agent over. And it really can't be proven, which is sad.
I also said the agent may have thought she was trying to run him over, with all the chaos going on between the agents and civilians he overacted, their training is shoot the kill.
Did it affect him, because he got in his car and drove off. That may have been his first time shooting a person killing a person.
@KunsanVeteran I thought tasers only have one charge, so why would protocol dictate a double tap? That sounds to me like she very much knew she wasn't holding her taser.
@NerdyPotato My best guess is that once the gun was in her hand, it was all muscle memory—she was a firearms instructor and probably had thousands of hours spent on the range.
I know in the USAF, Security Forces & OSI are trained that way and frequently have to qualify.
I am not making excuses for her but there was no premeditation, the routine stop morphed into something frightening in less than an instant, and she was immediately overcome by grief & remorse.
Very different than what happened in MN, but it looks like that perpetrator is going to walk…
@NerdyPotato Her name was Kim Potter and it occurred in 2021–I pled guilty to getting a lot of the details wrong. The story of the incident as reported by NPR can be read here:
She was convicted of 1st & 2nd degree manslaughter and sentenced to 16 months in prison (two thirds of her sentence) with the final 8 months served on supervised release.
Coincidentally, this occurred in MN so let’s see what happens in this case and how Demented Donnie and incompetent Bondi can thumb their nose at Justice.
That's exactly what I was just saying in another post. Her wheels were turned right, trying to drive down the rooad. Some user said they were facing the officer but that was when she was backing up. She then put the car in forward and tried to turn right.
If you watch the eye witness interview, it seems as if the murder victim was trying to drive away, as instructed by ICE, but the ICE people were acting like a bunch of untrained people with guns, and while complying with instructions to drive away (as evidenced by the wheels turned right), some other ICE decided she needs to be murdered.
When she got shot, her body weight on the accelerator (dead weight), caused the car to go out of control, and crash into a parked car.
@Northwest Exactly. In fact the eyewitnesses have stated that some ICE agents were telling her to move her car and others were telling her to stay out of the car. No one was clearly in charge.
A white ICE vehicle was in front of her vehicle, she was parked in a wide bike lane or curb and backed up to try and get around the ICE vehicle and squeeze by when the agent stepped toward or in front of her vehicle.
@KunsanVeteran I saw the video interview of an eye witness yesterday saying ICE agents were screaming at her to move out of the way. I can't find the video right now but she will be seen again.
At this point, I don't believe that anyone saying that actually believes it.
Just like I don't believe for a moment that Ross ever "feared for his life". But what people are really thinking has to be shrouded in ten layers of BS. When Trump spoke of "disrespect", that felt like we were actually getting somewhere.
How is it even possible to tell which way the wheels were facing from a blurry photo like that? It looks like the wheels were straight.
I am not taking sides, just seems funny how people can draw solid conclusions from blurry photos at a distance.
It is sometimes like when they look at a bank security video and say, "Yep, in this still, we can clearly see it was in fact John Smith!" Like really now? 🤨
@KunsanVeteran police types aren't supposed to be in front or behind the car in the first place. He was at the front side only partially in front. Moved immediately 5inches to the left. There was no danger.
Renee Nicole Good was pulling a K-turn; only a fool or a completely untrained officer would step in front of a car pulling a K-turn.
The ICE thug didn't begin firing his weapon until he was out of the path of the vehicle. He was SAFE. He shot a fleeing "suspect." That's in direct contravention of ICE rules, not to mention common sense.
Here's the 110 page ICE Firearms and Use of Force Handbook https://imlive.s3.amazonaws.com/Federal%20Government/ID255426897069329047495080324203699905714/2.2.1_Attachment%2021%20-%20ICE%20Firearms%20and%20Use%20of%20Force%20Directive%20and%20Handbook.pdf
Page 12 includes the following: 4) Deadly force is not authorized solely to prevent the escape of a fleeing suspect. Deadly force against a fleeing subject is only authorized if there is probable cause to believe that the escape of the suspect would pose an imminent danger of death or serious bodily injury to the officer or another person.
Also, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) guidance—specifically, 2014 ICE/Border Patrol use-of-force policies— “It should be recognized that a half-ounce (200-grain) bullet is unlikely to stop a 4,000-pound moving vehicle, and if the driver … is disabled by a bullet, the vehicle will become a totally unguided threat,” it says. “Obviously, shooting at a moving vehicle can pose a risk to bystanders including other agents.” https://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-border-killings-20140227-story.html
Not taking up for the ice agent but searching for truth
from the video I saw on television his first shot was through the windshield immediately after she pulled off. And as she passed he fired two more shots in the driver's window.
And I found video to it'll show of the hole in the windshield. [media=https://youtu.be/ghIUu8jkkX0?si=rqs_zzFaLnEQoWam]
And we know people in law enforcements are authorized to use deadly force / what they need is to know when to use deadly force, he could have easily just stepped back and they could have gave pursuit or just let her go catch her another day, I'm quite sure they had her information.
If an "act of domestic terrorism" was being carried out right in front of trained agents why did the others not bother to draw their weapons even after shots were fired?
You can see in that 2nd still. The car is turned to the right. Look at the legs of the guy next to the door ...
See the legs of the agent who murdered this lady? Thats right, you can see both of his legs to the SIDE of the car, not in front. No matter which way you look at this from, this was murder.
I mean unless your a fascist bootlicker, in which case you say "She shouldn't have been there recording and this wouldn't have happened" try trying to shove trumps shoes further down your throat.
