It is really sad what is happening in the US.

I.C.E are murdering people with the backing of the President of the United States.
There seems to be no way to stop the President doing as he wishes.
I would like to see the journalists at his "propaganda" press conferences call him out on his malevolence.
Someone needs to say to him, or his press secretary, Stop murdering US citizens.
Though, should anyone ever attempt that, they would be promptly removed from the room, probably charged for something, be fired by their employer and have their life destroyed.
What a parlous state of affairs. 🙁

@Gusman they literally say in the video that the person that was killed tried to run the ice officers over with her car
Gusman · 61-69, M
@MartinTheFirst Watching the video, you can see that was not the case.
G7J2O · M
@MartinTheFirst How about you watch the video, make your own assessment, and then decide which elected officials are lying to you.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@G7J2O @Gusman the cop shouldnt have shot her but it's not like they're lying either, just before they cut the video off an officer stumbles into the shot directly in front of the car, being pushed (or stepping back) as she drives into him. And let's not pretend that fleeing from cops in a car is okay
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@MartinTheFirst But fleeing doesn't necessitate public execution and could cause stray bullets to kill a kid in the street. You're also not supposed to shoot at cars because if you kill someone in the car, if she was in public, her car could have veered in public and hit someone's house or store front, killing others inside.

What if a thief stole some gum and the cop said stop and they didn't, so the cop gets out his gun and executes them, the crime doesn't necessitate the punishment.

In this case, the woman didn't even commit a crime, she tried to leave yes, but what crime was she accused of at the very beginning? There was no crime by which to really hold her. The video clearly showed her PARKED away from the agents in the first place.

I could see being annoyed but he clearly executed her because he was mad.

Furthermore, she said she forgave the ice agent as she drove off, the ice agent called her a fkking btch and then got out his gun and shot her in the face. Those were his words right before he shot her in the face, clearly angry.

Angry + fight/flight response = murder in the moment point blank... period.

He got his little fight or flight going, he felt that adrenaline arguing with her, he felt that light feeling you get in your toes when you want to run but have to stay and fight, then felt warm as blood pressure raised, got his weapon and emptied his clip at her face.

That's what happened.

Furthermore, they had lied and have lied in the past. The woman in Chicago was accused of running over ice agents in her car, that was a lie. Her case was dismissed after ice agents on video were egging her on to "do something" to them and calling her names. She also never hit them.

Same in this case, they said she ran into them at the beginning of the interaction yet the video never looks like a speeding car going full force into agents, that NEVER happened.

Trump also lied and said the ICE agent who did the shooting was in emergency care FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE, when a still shot in the video shows him at least a foot from the car. He never was touched at all, how TF can he be in emergency care?

They lied.

@Gusman There's new details that were released that says the exchange wasn't even heated, she said I forgive you and drove off, he then decided to execute her. He was also holding his phone recording her, when all the agents should have been wearing body cams, they were not. Even other law enforcement are now saying it was wrong doing period!

But to acknowledge what you said, there's a surprising good amount of people who believe that even the appearance of being guilty means that you should be murdered for it. That's wild. I hope those same people believe that of themselves should they ever find themselves to be in any predicament with a deranged police officer whether innocent or guilty don't matter, I hope that *IF* (and hopefully it doesn't for anyone) the time comes, they can handle the morals they live by.

Served 28 months until the charge was reduced and he was released.

They are shoot first, ask questions later because of things like that. They know they can't go wrong and will likely not face criminal consequences. That's really sad about the woman, she was victimized twice and going to the police, she lost her life.

@SatanBurger Such a parlous state of affairs in the US.
I saw the footage from the body cam of the person who shot her.
She was in no way threatening, a most disgraceful event, one which members here are virtually condoning.
Even after they view the footage, they simply repeat what Mr Trump and his entourage are saying.
This is blatant denial and lies.
I am very interested which way the US will go once Mr Trumps term is over.
Will the Democrats win the next election?
Will I.C.E. be disbanded?
Justine was not raped, she reported a possible rape after hearing a woman screaming for her life.

I wrote a letter to the Editor of the Minnesota Star Tribune Newspaper which was published in July 2017

Police Killings

On July 19 in Western Australia, a police officer was attacked with a Samurai sword and received a deep cut across the top of his head, fracturing his skull. He lost a litre of blood and required 25 stitches.
His partner subdued the attacker with a Taser. In this instance, lethal action may have been justified. But the professionalism of our police force found another way.
A member of the public in Minneapolis rings 911 to report a disturbance. On attending, approaching the squad car, she is shot dead because the officers were spooked by a noise.
Seems to me the lack of alternative methods to defuse and restrain is leading to too many innocent citizens being killed going about their lawful lives.

@SatanBurger You write a whole page of text but don't even try to stick to the truth, all you guys do is try to twist it as much as possible to make it seem like you're more correct than you are. You know that i didn't say that the "fleeing" part was what got her shot. If someone drove at me when i stand in front of the car it's not exactly like i would stand there and ask "hey ma'am are you meaning to flee right now or are you meaning to murder me with your car?". No clearly, I'd assume that this dumb person is going to kill me right now with their dumb actions. And the only reason we didn't find out if she truly was going to mangle him with her car, is cuz he shot her.

It doesn't matter what the conversation was when the above situation takes place. The dumb karen got herself executed, be real.

She was parked in the video on the side of the street, the ice vans could get around her. That's why some laws require that you prive you had to self defend yourself because you can't use any excuse to gun down someone just cos you got your fight or flight going on any little thing.

Sorry it's not the way self defense works and in the context of this incident, law enforcement should de-escalate. It's what they're taught to do.

@MartinTheFirst Furthermore, the guy who shot the woman was away from the vehicle at the time of shooting. They said specfically they shot her because she was driving towards them and ran into them. But they shot her as she was taking off so this is a little different, as you can clearly see.

Trump then claimed the ice agent that shot the woman was in the hospital fighting for his life and Noem said dozens of ice agents were hurt

But they weren't even around the car and the shooter from the still of the video was safely at the side of the car. Are you saying this is true, that he was hurt?

If so feel free to post the video point and time frame by which he was hurt cos he clearly was walking fine after she was murdered:

@MartinTheFirst Thanks for admitting you can't find where the agent was justified in the shooting and can't point a time in the video for me to look up where that was possible.

I was asking you but I know you can't find it.
