Get insurance companies out of the healthcare business.....end 'for profit' healthcare.
Medicare For All.....and yes, it is funded by our taxes. Raise taxes on the uber rich. Go see what the tax rates were under FDR, then see what Reagan cut the rates to, and the nation has never recovered from it.

@JSul3 the first step is to do away with the cap on income subject to both Social Security and Medicare taxes.
Vote in the next election.
Understand one thing affordable factors into every thing.
Affordable has always been us since the time of poor people. Most don’t know anything any different.
Think about those Christmas lists we made we when we were kids and mom and pop always gave us that kind expression maybe next year to cover our disappointment followed a sad, ok.

I just reposted a Guardian article about another Demented Donnie/Brainworm disaster in the making on the Health Care forum. It concerns the ludicrous appointment of Dr. Tracy Beth Høeg to acting director of the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER), the fifth person to lead the center this year.
Trump & Kennedy are rejecting and denying decades of scientific and medical research without a shred of evidence. Meanwhile, as we see here, medical insurance for millions of Americans is being priced out of their reach.
This insanity has got to stop!

Amazing! My health insurance through them hasn't been cancelled. I was renewed for 2026. My health insurance actually went down a few dollars this year so I really don't know where you are getting your information from.

You didn't read what I said did you?
You didn't look at the video did you?
I said subsidies were not approved
I said causing premiums to skyrocket
I said forcing people to drop their insurance.
And considering you didn't read or listen to what was given and written - you probably don't know what's going on in Congress. Asking where I get my information from haha.

Just my thoughts, if the intention of Obama and then democrats was to make it affordable health care, hence the name, then why does it need government subsidies to make it “affordable “ ? I find it baffling, sounds more like socialist medicine

Affordable Care Act is for people working and none working
Affordable Care Act the difference would be the amount of the premiums one would have to pay, those that works paid a bit more those that didn't may not have a premium to pay.
I worked when it first came out and apply for it, then it was mandatory if you were uninsured, but I was able to opt out with the way they gave.
And they checked my account.
Same goes for Medicare, Medicaid, and Welfare - they check. A few bogus accounts may slip through but very few.

@1490wayb 1. Not to question his concerns as the father of a cancer patient, but he works for the Independent Institute, a Libertarian think tank, so already had an ideological opposition to ACA & Medicare.
2. He acknowledges in his own testimony, that when he went back to the wonderful cheap health insurer he had prior to ACA they canceled him now that his daughter had cancer and somehow blames ACA for that rather than seeing it was the cheap plans' exclusionary practices that ACA was trying to address in requiring a basic level of coverage.

@Baremine
After former president Obama left office in 2016 and Trump took over premiums did skyrocket.
Under Biden premiums increased but not at the rate as under Trump.
Under Trump 2024 premium skyrocketing again.
As I have stated to others when Obama President Obama initiated the Affordable Care Act he said it needed improvement and left it up to those who came after him to improve........ Trump's and the Republicans goal in his first term was to destroy the ACA......... Biden did not do any improvements, I wonder why......... Trump second term again setting out to destroy and may succeed this time, with the skyrocketing premiums since they refused to reinstate the subsidies by the end of 2025 people may not renew and not have health insurance coverage.

@Baremine you want to believe what you believe that's for you to believe facts show different.
by the way I'm not a Affordable Care Act recipient
But it's okay to pay trumps bill - one thing's for sure there are millions who agree with you and millions who disagree. And unless you're rich and actually pay taxes, the taxes you pay don't amount to a hill of beans unless combined with the taxes paid by millions of others. And even if you were rich, and you wouldn't be here, the taxes you would pay May a Year's premium for a hand full of people.
