US struck facility tied to drug trafficking, causing 'major explosion'

President Donald Trump has indicated that the U.S. has “hit” a dock facility along a shore as he wages a pressure campaign on Venezuela, but the U.S. offered few details.

Trump initially confirmed a strike in what appeared to be an impromptu radio interview Friday, and when questioned Monday by reporters about “an explosion in Venezuela,” he said the U.S. struck a facility where boats accused of carrying drugs “load up."

“There was a major explosion in the dock area where they load the boats up with drugs," Trump said as he met in Florida with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. "They load the boats up with drugs, so we hit all the boats and now we hit the area. It’s the implementation area. There’s where they implement. And that is no longer around.”

He had definite intelligence or just some sort of suspicion...?

Unless the strike was by the request and co-operation of the Venezuelan government, it would be against the sovereign territory of a foreign country, and likely against international law, irrespective of the motive.

Any news of fatalties - be they innocent or guilty of drug-smuggling?

@ArishMell Why are the demonocrats so worried about the health and well-being of a bunch of narco-terrorists at the expense of American citizens?

@sunsporter1649 Have they? I accept you believing it, but since I support neither of the two American political Parties, it's not relevant.

The question is nothing to do with how you vote.

It is of the legality of the USA's military attacking another nation with which it is not at war; based on supposition and likely to kill or injure not only any alleged drug-traffickers but also innocent civilians.

I have no time for drug-taking nor for the illegal trade supplying the addiction whatsoever. I regard both as cowardly, and the drug-dealers also as inhumane, even as murderers. Nevertheless they do not justify military attacks on foreign countries.

The attacks are not sensible strategy, and play into the hands of America's foes. Is there some deeper reason for them?
