FBI Thwarts LA New Year’s Eve Terror Plot, Arrests Five Pro-Palestinian Extremists

The FBI has arrested four individuals who are said to be part of a radical pro-Palestinian extremist group for a terror plot that would have targeted Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve. They were allegedly planning coordinated bombing attacks at five separate locations across New Year’s Eve using improvised explosive devices.

The four arrested are self-identified members of a radical offshoot of the Turtle Island Liberation Front, the FBI told Fox News. The extremist group has anti-government, anti-law enforcement, and pro-Palestinian beliefs.

The arrests went down over the weekend in Lucerne Valley, deep in California’s Mojave Desert. Four individuals were taken into custody while allegedly testing improvised explosive devices. Yep—they were practicing. Preparing to hit five separate Los Angeles locations with coordinated attacks designed to terrorize holiday crowds.

But the FBI wasn’t finished. A fifth suspect connected to the same radical group was subsequently nabbed in New Orleans for planning a separate violent attack. That’s coordination across state lines. That’s a network.

FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the suspects self-identified as members of a radical offshoot of the Turtle Island Liberation Front. They now face charges of conspiracy and possession of a destructive device
