Tbh, they could have done an all body scan. Given that he has CIV, it may have been for that. He may also have suffered a stroke, which an MRI would be used for that to determine nerve damage.

It may have also been used simply to determine the strength of jis bones and joints.

He also doesn't seem to be someone who asks questions or listen to other people when they tell him things. So it is quite possible he truly doesn't know because he was told it was routine and he took that at face value and didn't ask any questions or paid attention to what anyone told him.
