I have personally studied the life and times of Donald J. Trump since I was a 'freshman' in high school at 14 years of age, which would have been about the year 2007.
Even back then and certainly long before my time, Trump was always one of those 'too-good-to-be-true' American business success stories and my English Literature teacher was obsessed with him and Trump's snake oil-style of salesmanship.
This is why I became immersed in Trumpism as a teenager. Trump's fake facade of his all-knowing business mantra was akin to that of a used car salesman who wore a yellow checkered jacket and a bowtie. It's not that my high school teacher believed in Trump, it's that he intuitively knew as a male, that Trump was a total fraud in all aspects of his life.
I've read numerous biographies, autobiographies, including forensic studies of the Late Fred Trump's methodology in managing Trump Corp, which means that I too became obsessed with the facade of Trumpism and couldn't figure out why Americans were buying into this guy named Trump.
What we could never figure out was why SO many seemingly intelligent Americans could not see the writing on the wall many years before Trump ever got into politics, which could only mean that Americans at large knew absolutely nothing about Donald J. Trump when they voted him into the Presidency twice, OTHER THAN what Trump himself told everyone about his status in the world!
Donald J. Trump for the record, has NEVER held an Executive position at Trump Corp prior to his political career and in fact, has always been a salaried EMPLOYEE of Trump Corp since the early 1970's. The Late Fred Trump set up the Corporation that way because he knew that his son Donald suffered from Attention Deficit Disorder and therefore was incompetent at managing any aspect of business. Donald never worked for anyone but his father since he left college, graduating as a 'C' student, albeit earning his Bachelors of Economics.

This often occurs among those who are finished with a particular career choice and it's time for them to move on. Trump is no different.
Trump has not been emotionally engaged in politics ever since the beginning of his second term as President because after Joe Biden won in 2020, Trump actually met his match and his ego couldn't handle it.
Trump got talked into running against Kamala Harris in 2024 because Trump has no problem winning against a female, but he wouldn't have as much luck if he ran against another male who otherwise would serve as a political alternative to Trump as President.

Difficult to compare due to the different eras. George III had huge power but actually he differed to Parliament mostly in the same way that Charles III arguably has now but again he defers to Parliament. Parliament is sovereign in UK as delegated from the monarch. Whereas Trump has executive powers the UaK prime minister would never have. Prime minister is only prime minister at the behest of Parliament. Hence why Boris Johnson and Liz Truss had to go without elections, we dont elect the PM they're invited to form a government by the monarch.
Also Trump has direct (unilateral?) control of the largest nuclear arsenal. So that gives him way more power than George III could ever had thought of.

The president of the USA (Trump) controls the most powerful nuclear military in all of human history. By the time of George III, the power of the British monarchy had become substantially reduced. Parliament made all the major political decisions, both home and abroad (though often in the King's name).

Executions required a formal indictment, trial, and sentence under the law. All criminal prosecutions were brought in the name of the Crown, but the decisions were made by judges and juries within the legal system, not by the monarch's personal will.
