Donald Trump was GIVEN more power by the American people, including the ones who never bothered to get off their fat assesses to show up and vote in the first place.

To NOT vote at all at a Presidential Election was a vote for Trump. This is because to 'not' vote in a Presidential Election means that you did absolutely nothing to prevent Trump from becoming President, not once but twice ffs's.

It's funny how Murphy's Law came home to roost on America's doorstep over Trump!

Over 200 years ago, would-be Americans fled George III because he was an indisputable fascist Authoritarian, only to turn around and endorse an incompetent buffoon like Trump who makes George III's actions look like a PG13 Matinee at the Roxy on a Saturday afternoon.

What Americans ended up with is what their ancestors left behind in England 200 years ago, which only means one thing... Americans themselves are incompetent at choosing their own country's political Leader and they proved that to the world TWICE.

I have personally studied the life and times of Donald J. Trump since I was a 'freshman' in high school at 14 years of age, which would have been about the year 2007.

Even back then and certainly long before my time, Trump was always one of those 'too-good-to-be-true' American business success stories and my English Literature teacher was obsessed with him and Trump's snake oil-style of salesmanship.

This is why I became immersed in Trumpism as a teenager. Trump's fake facade of his all-knowing business mantra was akin to that of a used car salesman who wore a yellow checkered jacket and a bowtie. It's not that my high school teacher believed in Trump, it's that he intuitively knew as a male, that Trump was a total fraud in all aspects of his life.

I've read numerous biographies, autobiographies, including forensic studies of the Late Fred Trump's methodology in managing Trump Corp, which means that I too became obsessed with the facade of Trumpism and couldn't figure out why Americans were buying into this guy named Trump.

What we could never figure out was why SO many seemingly intelligent Americans could not see the writing on the wall many years before Trump ever got into politics, which could only mean that Americans at large knew absolutely nothing about Donald J. Trump when they voted him into the Presidency twice, OTHER THAN what Trump himself told everyone about his status in the world!

Donald J. Trump for the record, has NEVER held an Executive position at Trump Corp prior to his political career and in fact, has always been a salaried EMPLOYEE of Trump Corp since the early 1970's. The Late Fred Trump set up the Corporation that way because he knew that his son Donald suffered from Attention Deficit Disorder and therefore was incompetent at managing any aspect of business. Donald never worked for anyone but his father since he left college, graduating as a 'C' student, albeit earning his Bachelors of Economics.

@swirlie You probably saw him nodding off yeterday during the cabinet meeting , and there is lots of speculation swirling around in the wake of his latest medical examinations that he is in some sort of decline. I wonder what your considered opinion is on that , ignoring all the more obvious politically inspired hysteria around it ?

What nodding-off is a sign of for anyone, not just Trump, is that they are emotionally detached from whatever it is they are doing in life that once held their attention but no longer does.

This often occurs among those who are finished with a particular career choice and it's time for them to move on. Trump is no different.

Trump has not been emotionally engaged in politics ever since the beginning of his second term as President because after Joe Biden won in 2020, Trump actually met his match and his ego couldn't handle it.

Trump got talked into running against Kamala Harris in 2024 because Trump has no problem winning against a female, but he wouldn't have as much luck if he ran against another male who otherwise would serve as a political alternative to Trump as President.

Trump's nodding-off as you've described is a solid sign that Trump is no longer emotionally in the game, but he doesn't know what to do about it. Trump may not have dementia but he sure does have better things to do with his life than run back and forth between Mara Largo and DC every week.

Parliament could and did restrain George III, establishing him as a constitutional monarch within a system of shared power. Although he had influence, particularly in appointing ministers and in his personal support for certain policies like firm measures against the American colonies, his power was checked by Parliament's authority. The system had evolved from the preceding century's struggles to prevent an absolute monarchy, so Parliament's power was a core part of the constitution, limiting the king's ability to act alone.

Trump was granted "Supremacy" by the Supreme Court.

So, I would say Trump has more power than George III.

Difficult to compare due to the different eras. George III had huge power but actually he differed to Parliament mostly in the same way that Charles III arguably has now but again he defers to Parliament. Parliament is sovereign in UK as delegated from the monarch. Whereas Trump has executive powers the UaK prime minister would never have. Prime minister is only prime minister at the behest of Parliament. Hence why Boris Johnson and Liz Truss had to go without elections, we dont elect the PM they're invited to form a government by the monarch.

Also Trump has direct (unilateral?) control of the largest nuclear arsenal. So that gives him way more power than George III could ever had thought of.
Well, all dictators are the most powerful because they said so.. and if you disagree with it, they will cancel you..

King George obviously had mighty power , the King of England and Ireland and fathered 15 children, it's a tough one to decide upon 🤔🤣

The president of the USA (Trump) controls the most powerful nuclear military in all of human history. By the time of George III, the power of the British monarchy had become substantially reduced. Parliament made all the major political decisions, both home and abroad (though often in the King's name).

@Richard65 That pretty much explains it.

George 111 because he had the power to say – off with their heads and heads would roll. Trump only wishes he had that kind of power. Cheers and happy weekend!

George 111 because he had the power to say – off with their heads and heads would roll.

Trump said "off with their heads", and more than 80 people were killed in over 20 U.S. airstrikes, in the waters near Venezuela, extrajudicially if I may end.

Happy shopping.

@Nanoose Following the Glorious Revolution (1688-1689) and the Bill of Rights in the late 17th century, the British monarchy's power to order executions unilaterally was effectively ended. Executions required a formal indictment, trial, and sentence under the law. All criminal prosecutions were brought in the name of the Crown, but the decisions were made by judges and juries within the legal system, not by the monarch's personal will.

If you mean who could do more of what they wanted, George III. If you mean who had/has more destructive force at their command, Donald Trump.
