@SinlessOnslaught The headline read, “The Largest Funder of Al-Shabaab is the Minnesota Taxpayer.” In a report by Journalist Christopher Rufo, it was revealed that Minnesota’s Somali population is allegedly stealing welfare funds and sending them back home to give a cut to the waiting wallets of Al-Shabaab terrorists. They are the MN terror connections within the welfare system in Minnesota.

“But the fraud is far more widespread with far more money involved than was previously reported — all of which has been presided over by former Democrat Party vice-presidential nominee Gov. Tim Walz.

The money paid out by Minnesota’s scandal-plagued welfare schemes is monumental. The state’s failed Medicaid Housing Stabilization Services program, for instance, was kicked off in 2021 with expenses expected to ring in at $2.6 million. But instead, the program paid out $21 million its first year. In each subsequent year the program ballooned to $42 million, then $74, and then $104 million, respectively. During the first half of 2025, costs had already reached $61 million, according to City Journal.

Fraud is also endemic in many of Minnesota’s other welfare programs. City Journal noted that a Somali woman named Asha Farhan Hassan has been charged with defrauding the state’s Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention program of $14 million over fake diagnoses of autism in children of Somali migrants.”

“Most of these cases, unlike a lot of Medicare fraud and Medicaid fraud cases nationally, aren’t just overbilling,” Thompson said at a press conference announcing the indictments. “These are often just purely fictitious companies solely created to defraud the system, and that’s unique in the extent to which we have that here in Minnesota.”

Thompson said many firms enrolled in the program “operated out of dilapidated storefronts or rundown office buildings.” The perpetrators often targeted people recently released from rehab, signing them up for Medicaid services they had no intention of providing. He noted many owners of companies engaged in HSS fraud had “other companies through which they billed other Medicaid programs, such as the EIDBI autism program, the . . . Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services program, the . . . Integrated Community Support program, the Community Access for Disability Inclusion . . . program, PCA services, and other Medicaid-waivered services.”

@SinlessOnslaught U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Swanton Sector arrested Hassan Mohamed, 43, a Somali national, following a report from a concerned citizen near Fort Covington. Mohamed was previously convicted of armed bank robbery in Missouri and sentenced to 93 months in federal prison.

On Monday, April 7, 2025, at approximately 1:14 a.m., Swanton Sector agents received a report of an individual breaking into a barn. A responding Border Patrol agent later encountered the subject, who was identified as Mohamed.

Agents determined that Mohamed is a citizen of Somalia and did not possess any immigration documents or legal status permitting him to enter or remain in the United States. Further investigation revealed that Mohamed had been ordered removed by an immigration judge in 2017. In 2007, he was convicted of armed bank robbery and use of a firearm during a crime of violence and was sentenced to 93 months in federal prison.

Mohamed has been charged with reentry after removal following a conviction for committing an aggravated felony.
