@G7J2O It is a shame Reform can't make better use of all that expensive private education.
@SunshineGirl yes well farage has done well, with his snide remarks, always comes bvack to bite you the past

@jefferson Not a great advert for Dulwich College. The teachers seem to have done very little to intervene in his behaviour.

@Platinum That is a largely irrelevant point as there won't be another general election for at least three years.
Precisely what "lies" do you think they told?

@SunshineGirl you know what lies ...learn to read ...i said if
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@Platinum I have no idea. I am trying to understand this from your perspective.

@SunshineGirl he promised no tax rises on working people and to give oap wfa...just two of the lies
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@Platinum They also promised investment in the NHS, education and public infrastructure. They promised to pursue ambitious housebuilding targets. They promised to balance the budget within the life of this parliament. When it became apparent that the previous Conservative government had made an unfunded cut to National Insurance, compromises had to be made. They have stick to the spirit of their promise on tax (for what it is worth) by not raising income tax, VAT or NI for employees.
No electoral pledge was made regarding winter fuel allowance. Following a backbench rebellion that allowance remains available to most pensioners.
Times and circumstances change. If you set out with the good intention of taking your child to the playpark but have to change your plans at the last moment because some vandals have broken glass there, does that make you a liar?

@SunshineGirl he was on tv before the election saying 140,000 pensioners would if the WFA was scrapped and they as a party would not stop it...labour took 1.1 trillion in t axes last year and so anything they did good we paid for it....inflation up, unemployment up ,taxes up ,businesses going bust .....
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@Platinum They have not scrapped winter fuel allowance for any of the 140,000 pensioners that would have faced freezing without it. They have preserved the "triple lock guarantee" (that will have to be paid for by working people) and guaranteed that no senior whose sole income is derived from the state pension will pay income tax.
Expensive commitments that have to be paid for. Money does not grow on trees.

@SunshineGirl go away ..you believe their lies ...they only paid wfa to people on benefits ,millions never got it...so many people are paying tax now due to triple lock....put up inheritance tax and broke their promise on borrowing....the list goes on....
@Platinum inheritance tax for farmers was tiny before, now its only 20% stillhalf what it is for anybody else, pension went up by 4%, child benfit was scrapped for only 2 kids, free school breakfast for all children, these are all good things, what did the toris ever do for us, oh yes they doubled the national debt,
Platinum · M
@jefferson 4% rise in my pension with everything going up in price means im at least £10 a month worse off...helping some children out of poverty while making their parents poorer, helps no one and so many people who are on benefits will have more children and will be laughing all the way to the bank ...your labour party are letting in so many immigrants its costing taxpayers 6 million a day at least.....
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@Platinum I make my own decisions based on evidence. I don't take at face value the sensationalist and misleading headlines of GB News.
They have not "put up inheritance tax", they have partially removed a generous and inexplicable exemption formerly enjoyed by farmers.
If you are interested in investigating political lies, perhaps you could ask Nigel Farage and co what happened to the £360m per week that Brexit was going to deliver to the NHS.
