Republican Leadership in House Expecting Mass Defections on Epstein Vote, Possibly 100 Members or More.

Republicans are bracing for a significant chunk of the conference to vote for Rep. Ro Khanna’s (D-Calif.) and Rep. Thomas Massie’s (R-Ky.) Epstein file disclosure bill once it lands on the House floor.

Senior Republicans privately believe dozens of Republicans will vote for it, possibly 100 or more, according to five people granted anonymity to speak candidly. Democrats pushing the petition publicly predicted that Republicans would rush to support the measure once it hit the floor.

If they vote against it they are turning their backs on the women who were abused by a ring of privileged pedophiles. It will be used against them if they seek reelection.

They need a tsunami in the house, that the appearance of similar in the Senate to throw fear of being the only President to be removed from office at POTUS.

The votes are there with the discharge petition. So long as those who signed it hold.

The partisan breakdown in the House is now 219 Republicans and 214 Democrats, with two seats still vacant.

New Jersey Gov.-elect Mikie Sherrill (D) will resign her House seat next week. How might that effect the discharge petition?

Abigal Spanberger (D-VA) is set to be sworn in as governor on January 17, 2026.

If a vote passes the House, it still needs to pass the Senate, which the GOP controls 53-47. Thom Tillis (NC) is very likely a yes. So, too, Lisa Murkowski (AK). If Susan Collins (ME) hopes to retain her seat, she would be a third yes vote. And then there's Mitch McConnell (KY). Talk about revenge!

Once it passes Congress, the legislation would go to Trump for his signature. And you can probably count on an override in both chambers should he veto it.

@beckyromero i am not talking about the Epstein file, i don't really think he cares if the full information about his deeds become well known. But, I do not see a majority of the house voting to impeach him, even if that happens, finding think there is anyway there are 60+ votes in the debate.
