How much did the MAGA government shutdown contribute?

At least 9 killed, others injured after a UPS plane crashes near the Louisville airport.

When a Party controls all three branches of our government and refuses to negotiate, you have to ask that question!

I just reviewed some 'live' video from ABC News and it can be clearly seen that the left engine was on fire before the aircraft even lifted off from the runway, so this had nothing whatsoever to do with any government shutdown.
@swirlie You are probably right although I cannot rule out effects it may have on maintenance work, safety checks, and the like. I don’t know enough to speculate on how those intricacies interact in the civilian world. But it does effect air traffic controllers and contributes to a burden on the airline industry which certainly does effect the public’s perception of air travel safety for such a time as this!

Okay, I get where you're coming from, but maintenance work, safety checks and the like have nothing to do with the US Federal Government, even if the entire FAA had been shut down in the process. Maintenance work and safety checks are completed independent of any government agency prior to each flight, irrespective of the current state of US government or the state of the US military.

Like I said, in my previous post, the aircraft's left engine was ALREADY on fire before the aircraft even raised it's nose for takeoff and there were no other aircraft involved with any of this happening.
@swirlie Everything that involves that plane and everything that involves where the plane is serviced, maintained, and the schedules of the airfield, how backed up air traffic is, etc. is affected to some degree. When the crews are overloaded or behind things get rushed, skipped, neglected…

It is the “butterfly effect” in action. And this is true of all bureaucracies and most assuredly airplanes.

You are not understanding anything I've previously posted here. The airplane was on fire before it left the ground and after it had already been cleared for takeoff, none of which has anything to do with government, even if there was nobody on duty inside the Control Tower!

Why are you trying to jam a round peg into a square hole on this issue?
@swirlie Because, as you say, the plane was on fire when you say.

Because this government shutdown affects everything about that plane—including while it was on the ground even before it was ever started.

Manpower over every aspect of that airplane since the shutdown started has been affected by the shutdown!

Ah, no... this government shutdown did not have any effect on that plane! You want it to be so, but it simply isn't so!

You have to remember that aircraft maintenance technicians are NOT government employees and therefore are not in layoff mode!

You also have to remember that the USA does not revolve around the US government being open for business or not!
