Texas Finds 2,724 Potential Non-Citizens on Voter Rolls Using Federal Database

Texas has found thousands of illegal immigrants on their voter rolls as the state has conducted an audit of the voter records, the Texas Secretary of State said on Monday. Secretary Jane Nelson said that there are over 2,700 possible illegal immigrants registered to vote…

“The Trump Administration’s decision to give states free and direct access to this data set for the first time has been a game changer, and we appreciate the partnership with the federal government to verify the citizenship of those on our voter rolls and maintain accurate voter lists.”

You heard that right. A tool that the Trump administration gave them. And boy, did Texas put it to use with shocking results. That “game changer” is the federal SAVE database, and after running its voter rolls through the system, the state identified 2,724 potential non-citizens registered to vote.

And let’s be clear, this isn’t some academic squabble or a statistical rounding error. This is a direct assault on the integrity of our elections. In Harris County, a Democrat stronghold, 362 potential non-citizens were flagged. In Dallas County, another 277. These individuals have 30 days to prove they are citizens. If they can’t, their registrations are gone, and anyone who broke the law gets a visit from Attorney General Ken Paxton’s office.

This is what leadership looks like. Under Governor Greg Abbott, Texas has been aggressively cleaning house for years. This latest find is just one part of a massive, successful campaign that, according to the governor, has already purged over one million ineligible people from the state’s rolls in the last three years.
