Gubernatorial Candidates in New Jersey and Virginia Accept Over $115,000 from Chinese Communist Party Member

The Chinese Communist Party doesn’t need to hide its intentions anymore. Through a sophisticated network of business leaders and industrial magnates, Beijing has found willing partners in American political candidates who prioritize campaign coffers over constitutional principles.

What was once conducted through back channels and shell companies now happens in broad daylight, with Federal Election Commission filings serving as receipts for the sale of American sovereignty.

The latest chapter in this troubling saga involves New Jersey Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mikie Sherrill, a former Navy officer who apparently sees no conflict between her oath to defend America and accepting $65,800 from Pin Ni, a businessman whose company has been praised by Xi Jinping himself for always following the Communist Party line.

The money flowed in two streams: $60,000 to the One Giant Leap super PAC supporting her campaign, and another $5,800 directly to her campaign coffers.

Wanxiang Group posthumously awarded the company’s founder, Lu Guanqiu, the title of “National Outstanding Communist Party Member” in a 2021 press release and praised Guanqiu for his “pursuit of communism as a lifelong ideal and practice.”

The press release also said Guanqiu, the late father-in-law of Pin Ni, “has always listened to the [Chinese Communist] Party and followed the Party.” The press release continued by quoting Chinese President Xi Jinping’s praise of Guanqiu, saying he was “in line with the Party Central Committee.”

Sherrill isn’t alone in this dance with the dragon. Her former House roommate, Virginia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger – ironically a former CIA officer – pocketed $50,000 from the same CCP-linked benefactor.

Let me spell this out: Pin Ni has been named an “Outstanding Communist Party Member” fifteen times. Fifteen! The question isn’t whether foreign influence is seeping into our elections; it’s how deep the rot has already spread. Ni has distributed over $1 million to mostly Democratic candidates in recent years.

The connections run deeper than mere campaign contributions, too: Sherrill has consistently voted against protecting American auto workers from Chinese electric vehicle mandates, aligning perfectly with Wanxiang’s business interests in the EV sector. When given the choice between American manufacturing jobs and Chinese industrial policy, she’s chosen Beijing’s agenda every single time.

Look, I get it, campaigns are expensive. But when you’re choosing between American auto workers and Chinese EVs, maybe don’t pick the option that comes with communist party membership cards attached.

Charlie Munger of Berkshire Hathaway chose Chinese EVs. Was he a supporter of the Chinese Communist party?
