OK so you get rid of all the immigrants. Then what?

No one is getting rid of all the immigrants, just the illegal ones!
@GerOttman That is factually wrong on all points.

Even citizens are being detained illegally.
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow do you know what detained means?
SW-User
@GerOttman That also wasn't the point of my post. I was going to point out that your problems are not going to be magically solved if you get rid of all immigrants, legal or not.
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@SW-User no one is getting rid of legal immigrants...
SW-User
@GerOttman This is a hypothetical situation.
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@SW-User Ohhhh... Okay!
SW-User
@GerOttman My point is, that things are not going to be magically better if all immigration (legal or otherwise) is halted. But it seems to be what a lot of Americans want.
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@SW-User is there a cutoff date? should I go back to Ireland?
SW-User
@GerOttman what?
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@SW-User getting rid of immigrants, from when to when? just recent or "all" the immigrants. my people came from Ireland and Germany in the 1880's. The only real native Americans are indigenous folks like Sen. Warren.
SW-User
@GerOttman You're being deliberately facetious.
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@SW-User well to be fair, so are you!
SW-User
@GerOttman This was a hypothetical post. People in America seem to think that if we get rid of all "immigrants" (i.e. anyone who is not White), then suddenly, the money will be available to solve all problems. The problem is the super-rich, not immigrants.
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@SW-User I tend to disagree with your premise however hypothetical it may be.
SW-User
@GerOttman so you believe "no illegal immigration, no problem"?
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@SW-User How about "fewer" problems. Is every issue an absolute for you? I value an appreciation for nuance myself.
SW-User
@GerOttman No, it won't even be fewer problems.
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@SW-User if you say so, I think you're full of it personally.
@GerOttman I know what detained means. You clearly don't know what facts mean.
@GerOttman The latest example of legal immigrants rounded up were Korean engineers that came to the US to setup plants that Trump had demanded the South Koreans setup to avoid tariffs. Kiss that goodbye.

Doubt the Japanese will send anyone after that either.
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow they were not immigrants, they were on visas which they were alleged to be in violation of. please refer to available fact check sites before posting nonsense.
@GerOttman They were immigrants. And your reasoning makes zero sense. Visas are literally the documents that make immigration legal in the majority of immigration categories.

And they were not in violation of anything. They were arrested literally for not being white.

Please learn at least high school level understanding of immigration and basic facts before you embarrass yourself yet again.
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow they were not coming to live long term and not authorized to work. student visas, tourist visas, and other categories exist. thses are called details... are you familiar with details or just blathering aimlessly?
