@Guitarman123 I’m sure people from both left and right will continue to disagree. Both will claim God is on their side.

@meJess If you know anything about the left, not really. He was basically the first Christian socialist.
And left wingers more often then not don't care about your god or anyone else's god.

@meJess Who on the left? Palestinian, advocating for something more resembling the general understanding of "socialism" than free market capitalism? 99.9% of his platform is essentially"the rich need to share their wealth of they want to access heaven"
Genuine question. I can think of many more motives why the right would be at his throat, than the left. Even counting only the tankies as left

@Elessar How can people give the excess product of their labour to who they view as the needy deserving of it, if a centralized state has already taken much of the excess product of their labour?
Elessar · 31-35, M
@Therealsteve You don't do it directly if the state already does it for you; it's also a matter of efficiency: maybe me and you are honest, and would voluntarily distribute what we earn and don't critically need, but many (most?) would just keep it. If the redistribution happens at state level and the redistribution process is fair, you don't have to rely on the entire population willing to do their thing.
Both have their disadvantages: people can be egoist, and states can be corrupt. But it's arguably easier to make sure a state isn't corrupt, than to police every single individual.
