@DavidT8899 I heard that Taylor Swift refused to play the halftime show when offered because the Super Bowl committee wouldn't pay her. I've heard rumors over the years that halftime headliners actually PAY the committee a few million dollars just for the privilege of headlining that once a year event.
Taylor Swift supposedly is worth $500 million, all earned by her songwriting and sold out concerts. I admire her for being the total capitalist in this.

@Reason10 Actually ,her worth is 2.1 BILLION ,and while I understand her reasoning ,I'm not sure this specific situation was the right one with which to apply it .I won't go into the reasons why right now .

@DavidT8899 Didn't know it was that high. Well (politics aside) Taylor Swift earned EVERY DAMNED PENNY. She writes intriguing songs, is drop dead gorgeous, sells a lot of records (or whatever they call it today) and sells out concerts all over the place. Can't help but admire that level of accomplishment in a musician.

@specman Those rumors have been all over social media. I would SOOOO love that to be the case, but every time I did a google search, there was no cancellation.
Truthfully, I don't believe he's important enough for the Super Bowl. Kid Rock is a bigger star. But apparently the hiring committee is looking at attracting a certain demographic (Latinos) and maintaining an image of controversy.
