Why is Trump now targeting George Soros? The Republican Lincoln Project sums it up nicely.

Rick Wilson, a cofounder of the Lincoln Project, said:

“Right now Trump’s in a lot of trouble across the board politically: the job situation is terrible, the economy is crashing out, the Epstein files are still dividing the party. All these things have led to a moment where they need some bait and they need some distraction out there.

“Soros is a great target for that and I’m sure it’s also trying to send a chilling message to any other Democratic donor that they should watch out or he’ll go after them. If they don’t avoid transgressing against Trump, they’ll be in the same spot that Soros finds himself in.”

Wilson, a former Republican strategist, added:

“It’s absolutely about scaring people and freaking people out and causing fear and suppressing free speech. They do not want people to fund campaigns or Super Pacs or organisations that oppose Trump or Trumpism or their movement and so they’re going to seek to punish people and scare them off.”

It does, but Trump's pretty much in full offense/attack mode on everything at the moment, and isn't even putting up a token defense.

Kind of like a wounded animal that can't retreat.

@samueltyler2 Niemoller's claim has always seemed particularly apt to Trump to me. Jews, like blacks and women have been useful to him and as long as they're useful as tools he'll keep them oiled and put of the rain.

But when he doesnt need them, or heaven forbid, they cross him, he'll drop them or make them useful again by punishing them.

There's more to him than Haman, but he's no Mordecai, and I think he'll end up being part of a disaster for both Israel and those Jews who, like Stephen Miller, sign on to serve him.
