The party of pro life cut funding for abuse shelters

Apparently it's not just this lady but in her area there were 25 other shelters. I mean maga has been in the news a lot for domestic violence and icky child stuff so it makes sense. Abusers want to abuse, the logic is sound. Although the crime rate will go up. I can see it now, females will either get unalived or they will unalive their spouses to protect their children or in the heat of the moment when self preservation takes over.

Funding for the nonprofit womens shelter here was pulled after the discovery of the directors super big pay package which included a house, cars and a 250,000 check every year

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Yeah I think people still think it's the 90s or whatever. Heck even 20 hourly isn't enough, 20 hourly is the new minimum wage.

@SatanBurger Yeah. Base pay for a healthcare administrator in the US depending on state seems to be between 80 to 130k.

That is just for middle management. No specialized qualifications in mental health or anything like that.

Plus a woman's shelter there is unfortunately hazard pay involved because if an abuser finds out where it is there is a risk they show up with a weapon.

So just on that alone the salary doesn't seem that off.
