Why make it about Israel?

Why not make it about the tax breaks Trump has given to billionaires?

@wishforthenight

The reason for my initial comment is because it may distract from the original message that you will find me and most people agree: that being that we need to end homelessness, end hunger and make college more affordable in the U.S.
@beckyromero yes and my message is the Trump administration can clearly afford to do all these things; they just don’t choose to.

did they really? seems excessive. at the same time though, that area is volatile. important to have strong allies in the region. our first worldish financial concerns wont mean much if theres a major war. but yeah homelessness is a major problem too and so sad that in this day when so many people have so much some people cant afford a home of their own. not trying to downplay your concerns. just wanted to stress the importance of powerful allies.
Penny · 46-50, F
@wishforthenight i am sorry for your concerns. my view is from afar and American in nature. i dont really know the struggles going on over there veery much. I do think though that Palestinians would probably not be good allies due to the nature of their allegiance religion wise so that makes them the enemy politically. Do correct me if I'm wrong. Dont make it about color. Color may be a factor outwardly for some but is not the basis of the dispute. Maybe for some Israelis but from my view its about religious conviction. Which is sad because most people arent that religious anyway. Not saying I side with Jewish people. If the nature of Judaism wasnt so non-inclusive there wouldnt be as big of a problem. Still, Israel is supposedly an ally. Palestine being one is highly questionable. I do think it's a terrible situation for both parties.

@wishforthenight You need to study history a bit more. What I said is indeed factual. You have swallowed the propaganda hook line and sinker. Many people have. Now and then I like to take time to point out the actual historical facts. Hate me for that if you want to.
@justbob Look mate, you're not stating historical facts, you're repeating propaganda designed to erase a people. The existence of Palestinians isn’t up for debate, no matter how many times you parrot colonial talking points.

Palestinian identity, society, and culture are well documented long before 1948. Under the Ottoman Empire and the British Mandate, the land was called Filastin (Palestine), and its people, who were Muslim, Christian, and Jewish, were referred to as Palestinians. That's a fact. Palestinian newspapers, schools, town records, and cultural institutions all existed, in Arabic and in English, before Israel was even a concept. Were those just figments of someone’s imagination?

Denying that Palestinians exist is like denying that Indigenous peoples in the Americas exist just because European settlers wanted the land. It’s not historical literacy; it’s colonial erasure.

You can pretend to be the brave truth-teller “pointing out the facts,” but all you’re really doing is regurgitating the same tired, racist line that’s been used to justify occupation, displacement, and apartheid. You’re not being clever. You’re being cruel.

I do not believe for one moment $30B can end homelessness. (Maybe for One State) But not the country.
Iwillwait · M
@wishforthenight I do not disagree. You're focused on Israel as though this is the travesty. The real travesty is the US giving a single penny to any county before shoring up our own.
@Iwillwait Oh I'm not focusing on Israel. Hence my saying "America first, right?"
Penny · 46-50, F
@Iwillwait that brings up the issue of how to fight homelessness? just handing out free housing to people who are incapable or unlucky enough to not have housing doesnt seem to be a viable answer. people who pay taxes work hard for that money. it wouldnt really be fair. not to mention that a tiny house isnt exactly an ideal permanent living situation either. what about homeless institutions? like shelters but for longer term for those with more need? how much would that cost?
Bumbles · 56-60, M
I oppose aid to Israel, but don’t agree with 1 and 3.
Wow

Good note.

And wrong it's always DJT first with him
Carla · 61-69, F
Oh sweatie, do you think this administration cares about hunger, homelessness, healthcare or education?
They do not. And above that, they have convinced their cult not to care either, no matter the personal cost to them.
You'd think that would make them ingenious. It doesn't. It just proves how moronic the cult is.
We hear that cult scream about america first. What about our veterans? Our elderly? Our homeless? Our disaster victims? Their concern is hollow.
They cheer the elimination of programs that keep these people alive. Worldwide.
It was never america first. It's always been greed first.
It's strange to me how the cult lives vicariously through their masters. I reckon it's all they have...

I'm sure there's a saying or 2 about this. Honour among thieves? The devil knows his own? Something like that?
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
We Americans are denied national healthcare. Meanwhile we pay for Israël's public health, including abortions on demand.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
Yes. America.is s corporation my friend.
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
Trump is on the verge giving Argentina 30B to prop up its failing economy and save his friend and supporter president Javier Milei.
Adrift · 61-69, F
So how much did then Biden administration spend?
@Adrift No, I'm talking about Trump; it's you that's deflecting.
Adrift · 61-69, F
@wishforthenight You pose an argument like a four year old.
Good bye.
@Adrift I wasn’t falling for your deflection and now you’ve stormed off like a 5-year-old who wasn’t allowed to play 👶

Game set and match to me 😎

The U.S. threw away about $4 trillion in the Middle-East and Afghanistan over the last 20 years. All wasted on a hopeless quagmire. It accomplished nothing, except to make crooked defense contractors a lot of money.
JSul3 · 70-79
@badminton It also got many people killed or maimed for life.
