I read an article about a woman dying from Tylenol poisoning

Apparently the pregnant lady who was very liberal was so going to prove Trump wrong that she overdosed and killed herself and likely her baby in the womb. This says nothing about Trump but everything about liberals who think they know better. Why would you want to take so much Tylenol it kills you? Weird. I ask this question. Had that been President Hillary or Kamala say that would the liberal be as angry? How many conservatives would OD on Tylenol to show Hillary or Kamala that they are wrong!? So sad about the baby.

It has been known for years that acetaminophen is very hard on the liver, causing liver failure and death if used outside recommended dosages. I don't think the average far left individual will even consider Trump may be right about something.

@Roadsterrider let’s take that to a logical extension. How many people die each year from excess alcohol consumption. Let’s ban beer! How many people die each year from lung cancer caused by excessive smoking? Let’s ban tobacco products! How many people die from obesity each year? Let’s ban junk food!

@ZoeGrace19 No one is banning anything. Tylenol is still for sale. If you want to overdose on it you can still do it.

@ZoeGrace19 how many people die from guns?
ZoeGrace19 · F
@trollslayer in 2023 46,728 in the US according to the CDC died from gun violence

@Roadsterrider my doc told me I could safely take twice the approved max dose of ibuprofen, but anything more than the max dose of acetaminophen was out of the question

@ZoeGrace19 sounds like maybe guns should be regulated? They kill more than tylenol.

@ZoeGrace19 Prohibition banned alcohol, the government went as far as poisoning alcohol and people still kept drinking, it didn't work, and the act was repealed. There is currently a ban on heroin, methamphetamines, cocaine, prostitution and human trafficking but dope and hookers can be found in every corner of the country. About 50K died from firearms about half of those were suicides, most of the remaining casualties were criminals shooting other criminals. About 40K died from auto accidents about 250K a year die from medical mistakes. My comment didn't mention banning anything, I am a believer in personal responsibility and working within the law.

@Roadsterrider Completely agree. I am also a huge fan of informed consent. If someone is peddling a nostrum to cure bad breath but doesn't tell you the way it cures bad breath is by causing you to stop breathing...... If people are aware of the potential risks of a course of action they are better suited to responsibly take the action they choose. A young mom that doesn't know that Tylenol can have serious side effects on her unborn child is not able to take responsible action.

@hippyjoe1955 That doesn't absolve her of being responsible for what she puts in her body. I am a diabetic and my doctor is a pill guy. He likes to change medicines, and every time he does, I spend a day reading studies about efficacy and side effects, and whether I shouldn't take it based on family history, other meds. With all the information we have at our fingertips, it is ridiculous to take medicine and especially enough to cause bodily harm without reading the side of the bottle at least. Informed consent is great. I refused the COVID jab until I could get the J&J vaccine. I have a choice what I put in my body. I try to educate myself before I put anything in my body.

@Roadsterrider I think we are on the same side. Well except I don't get vaxes of any type. I am of an age that I was a likely victim of COVID. I got it twice. I survived it twice as did my wife. Many of my family and friends took the jab and are now dead.

@hippyjoe1955 We are on the same page, or at least the same chapter. I just think that too many people today expect their hand to be held to prevent anything from happening to them. To say that if nobody told her tylenol could kill her, it really isn't informed consent lacks something in my opinion. We each have a responsibility to look out for ourselves to some degree.
