@jshm2 Well MAGA is a broad term for a movement. The organization is the Republican party.

@BorealPedant Thanks, sorry if I rained on your parade.
Yeah its fair to say that is a conspiracy theory not based in facts.
I'll refrain from offering my opinion on antifa, save to say that there are a lot of stupid kids who make up that group and they need to recognize things have gone too far. They seem to be escalating when they should be winding down. There was a kid in Dallas just the other day who killed himself after firing on ICE at a detention center. He killed one detainee and wounded another before he killed himself. That's a tragedy and a waste and more kids are going to be killed or find themselves with life sentences in a Federal Supermax facility. I don't think that is funny and worthy of mockery.
What I am arguing is that there is no such thing as a coherent "antifa" organization, which is directly funded by George Soros, who are in turn planning and executing terror attacks per orders from said central org. That's a conspiracy theory and you can't declare a conspiracy theory a terrorist organization.

@SumKindaMunster Oh rain all you want, I want to be truthful and clear lol.
I think it may help for me to articulate what antifa actually is. The left understands fascism as a populist movement to expunge an unwanted part of the population (Jews, racial minorities, queer people, and always the left), strengthen the nation under traditional values, and unite under a charismatic leader. Fascists focus on a street presence. That means patrols, marches, rallies. When unchecked, they escalate to violence. This started with Italy and Germany in the 20s, and continued with other fascist causes in the UK, Spain, etc...
So antifascists show up to stop them and that was the communists in the 20s and has changed into varying groups over time. The tradition of fascist groups marching in the streets and trashing immigrant neighbourhoods is met with the tradition of leftists showing up to get them to stop.
The problem of course is that ICE is a government agency and you can't just use antifa tactics against ICE, even if they absolutely believe ICE is a fascist agency. The conspiracy is this is all organized. It's not. If it was organized they'd be smarter about it.
I will note the latest shooting of an ICE officer looks like a libertarian irony-pilled 4chan guy and that seems to be most of the political violence. But I do expect actual left wing violence will be on the rise - partially because there's such an insistence on provoking it.
Although it is telling the crackdowns are coming to Portland, not to Texas where these shootings took place.

@BorealPedant
Thanks for the history. I'm not sure how this is relevant to the current iteration of antifa, save some romantic notions that contemporary antifa is doing anything about fascists. They aren't. They've been mostly behind coordinated violence and mayhem particularly against government locations, and as noted, ICE. They're bullies and opportunists. They've destroyed cars, government buildings, and business locations. They are organized in that they coordinate amongst one another, share intel, plan events, and support each other.
Pedantically, they aren't "organized" in that they don't have a central location and leadership from which orders are disseminated.
But that's semantics. Of course they coordinate and organize. They engage in violence routinely, and destroy property and injure others as a matter of course. They threaten, intimidate, and occupy public spaces.
I don't have an opinion of the latest shooter, suffice to say he seemed young and naive.
The "crackdown" is coming to Portland because that's where they are most active and violent. They have been occupying government locations for months, they knew this was coming.

Well they better start wrapping it up if they have a sense of what awaits them. Again, they are going to get arrested and killed now that they have been designated a terrorist organization.I don't have an opinion of the latest shooter, suffice to say he seemed young and naive.
