Kamala Harris says she ‘had a certain responsibility’ to argue against Biden running again

No shit Kamala! It's a bit too late don't you think?

If she were a strong candidate - she could have led the calls for Biden to step aside. It’s not her responsibility alone, but she alone had the position and rank to persuade others.

So way back in early 2023, she could have approached Biden in a constructive and confident way:

“Joe - you have done a terrific job as president, but I and those around you can see the toll it is taking your physical and mental health and the public will see this, too. Nobody is forcing you to step down, but for the good of the country, I am asking you to step aside. I know I can win this thing, and you know it too. The sooner we move forward, the better this will be. Trust me on this.”

And then be persistent about it.

Using a football analogy, I see the real problem is that the democrats (and Harris) waited for Biden to throw three picks before putting in the backup, rather than having confidence in their new QB to start a new season. Harris might have been perfectly fine - but the “backup QB” label never left her.

@trollslayer You make a good point, but yourealso demonstrating my point regarding the electorate. Instead of comparing a slightly flawed candidate (Harris) against an appalling candidate (Trump) we saw those on the left not voting because Harris wasnt perfect, whereas those on the right voted for the right wing candidate regardless of his appalling list of flaws.

@22Michelle Why would anyone vote for someone they think is appalling?

You may think he is, but those who voted for him, had a reason to do so. One of these reasons, is that they don't like the other candidate.

@Northwest His record is easily viewable and a serial bankrupt, liar, a man banned from running charities due to fraud, serial sex offender, etc, etc, is really not someone anyone should be voting for.
Not liking a candidate is fine, but really the decision on who to vote for should, sadly, be about whosthe least flawed / appalling.

@22Michelle those folks bothered me. They stay home or vote 3rd part as a protest vote. Can’t stomach Trump, but in effect voted for him with a no-vote.
