She was in a tough spot as his VP, I think. Nancy did what she needed to do after Jill Biden and Ron Klain blew it. I blame Jill most of all.

She was running for the MOST important office in the world, and for the most important position in the entire world.

A failure to disclose what she knew, AND demand a change of course, is not something that can be dismissed as "gee, what could she do" against the establishment.

If she CANNOT stand up to the establishment AND put the issue to the American people, then she IS the reason the Democrat ticket failed.

@Northwest I think having an open rebellion months before Biden did drop out would also have been politically a very dangerous move to make. If you recall, it wasn't until the debate that the prevailing opinion shifted that Biden needed to drop out. Before that most of the Dems (Ezra Klein being the notable exception) were in denial.

Further, support quickly rallied around her which probably would not have been the case had she "gone after the king."

In retrospect, a brief open primary would have been a better choice, but that is only because of hindsight. Ezra Klein was also calling for a brief primacy of sorts.

Now, would it have been awesome to watch if Kamala had gone for broke say, a year out? Sure, but I don't think that was at all realistic.
