“Israel has committed genocide in Gaza” says the UN Commission of Inquiry

A new report says there are reasonable grounds to conclude that four of the five genocidal acts defined under international law have been carried out since the start of the war with Hamas in 2023: killing members of a group, causing them serious bodily and mental harm, deliberately inflicting conditions calculated to destroy the group, and preventing births.

I heard a UN spokesman this morning pointing put that they had equally condemned Hamas for their actions 0n 7/8 October and defending the current report as detailed and unbiased.

Have they put in place recommendations? Called for a cease fire? Called for the arrest of Israeli leaders? Called for the ban on selling arms to Israel?

Last week the UK Deputy PM David Lammy said that it was not a genocide...was that so the UK could continue to profiteer from this?

I also pointed out that the same committee who found that Israel are committing genocide also said that Hamas had committed war crimes.
