I think people are being too shallow here. I don’t see this as MAGA at all. Sure his family was MAGA, but I don’t see where Robinson was trying to stir a political agenda - if he was he would be outspoken with his message. This seems to me more like a young man wanting attention from his conservative Family/community of origin. Shooting Kirk was his means of getting that.
