Imagine people being so fragile that they sue someone for quoting a person's actual statements.

In case you didn't catch this Stephen King is being threatened with a lawsuit for simple re-posting a small list of statements by Charlie Kirk.

Stephen King apologized Friday for claiming that the conservative activist Charlie Kirk “advocated stoning gays.” King made the initial assertion in a since-deleted social media post written after Kirk was shot and killed Sept. 10 at an event he was hosting at Utah Valley University.

“I apologize for saying Charlie Kirk advocated stoning gays. What he actually demonstrated was how some people cherry-pick Biblical passages,” the 77-year-old author wrote on the social media platform X.

@Jackaloftheazuresand So he got a single quote wrong. And Kirk has also in the past stated old testament law should be the law of the land so it amount to exactly the same thing anyway.

@goliathtree Except it is not wrong. One single point was debatable but he has stated exactly the same position with other statements over the years so pretending otherwise is just lying.

It is not about gotcha. It is about conservatives pretending a far right hateful person was suddenly a saint because it is useful for martyrdom.
