Today I learned that I should learn to be more tolerant.

No this has nothing to do with Kirk but someone told me that my profile is talking down to those different from me. I mostly write about the news, trump's propaganda and human rights like a little immigrant girl who was deported in the middle of brain cancer treatments and maga coming on to say that little girls parents are criminals. Or that white nationalist group that held them guns up to children's heads while yelling racial slurs and cops said it was free speech.

But it never occurred to me that people honestly think that white nationalism and the far right is like some afternoon social club or something 🤔 😆

And that by criticizing these things I'm not tolerant to their lifestyle choice of being anti gay, anti human rights and just weird in general.

This idea amuses me I dunno why.

I'm going to say this again. Not for you, but for the haters in the back who didn't hear me the last time.

Tolerance is a social contract. It only works when everyone is tolerant. If you are not tolerant of someone because of their race, sexual orientation, gender status, etc., I don't have to tolerate your intolerance. It is not merely an opinion I am not tolerating. It's not just your words or your politics to which I take offense. It is your refusal to allow other people who are different from you to exist peacefully without harassment.

I don't have to tolerate that. No one does. Keep that to yourself. Or better yet, get to know some of these people whose existence upsets you. Learn about them as human beings. Wrap your mind around the fact that they are more than just a skin color, more than just a gender, more than just an orientation. They are people. And they are more like you than your hateful ass wants to admit.

@LordShadowfire Thank you for saying that, I don't know why people think otherwise.
