He shouldn't have been murdered, no one should be celebrating it because it kinda shows what kind of a society you have.
But saying that he:
"[...] encouraged dialogue and discussion"
"[...] never advocated for violence"
... Did this guy ever listen to the Charlie Kirk show? Like that time that Charlie voiced the "strong opinion" (2023, with guest star Riley Gaines), that transgender people are sick and that the reason why they are more in public now is because male testeron rates have gone down. Men are acting like women, and thus they didn't stop trangenders from becoming part of the center. He called for strength to go against them. And also added that transgenders needed to be dealt with like they were in the 50s and 60s.
But a segment of conservatives that adhere to authoritarian ideals, seem to have a hard time reading between the lines. And for them, this is probably a verry peacefull message because the guy didn't explicitly say that the people he didn't like should end up in a psych ward, held down and lobotimised.
The fact is, Charlie was advocating for communities to peer pressure minorities that his christian nationalist ideals couldn't stomach. He advocated for the state to be used against them. Charlie, wasn't a peacefull guy. And he didn't do discussion either, he did debate. When he got corrected by people, and was forced to admit that he was wrong. He would cut it out of his youtube videos and say the same dumb stuff the next day. Because he wasn't selling the truth, he was selling snakeoil. Charlie was a demagogue. He's not redeemable. Pretending that he was outside of the "extremist" category, is just ignorant.
