Appeals Court Reverses Ruling, Allows ‘Alligator Alcatraz’ to Resume Operations

For every good idea, a team of activist lawyers comes out of the woodwork. They file silly lawsuits to stop all progress. Then, the news media jumps in to spin the story. They make good guys look like bad guys. It’s a war on common sense, and it takes real guts to stand up to it.

Boy, did we just see a perfect example of this down in Florida. Governor Ron DeSantis had a great idea to support President Trump’s border mission. He wanted to build a tough detention facility called “Alligator Alcatraz.” But an Obama-appointed judge tried to kill it with a bogus ruling. Of course she did. The media loved it. But they spoke too soon.

Governor DeSantis did what real leaders do. He fought back. And last week, he got to tell the judge and the media that they lost.

“The media was giddy that somehow Alligator Alcatraz was ‘shutting down.’ Now we told them that that wasn’t true… But they ran with the narrative because some leftist judge ruled implausibly that somehow Florida wasn’t allowed to use our own property… Well, we said we would fight that… and I’m pleased to say that the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals has just stayed that ruling… So Alligator Alcatraz is, in fact, like we always said, open for business.”

This was never about saving the alligators. Please. Give me a break. The judge’s ruling was about politics, plain and simple. She used a fake “environmental” excuse to block a plan she didn’t like. This is how the Left operates these days. If they can’t win an election, they get their friends in black robes to do their dirty work.

They hope we’ll just give up and go home. They expect us to roll over when a court tells us “no.” But they are learning that some leaders, like Governor DeSantis, don’t back down from a fight.

The appeals court stepped in and did the right thing. It’s about time, isn’t it? This ruling is a big win for America. It means that our states can actually do their job and help protect us from the disaster at the border. It says leaders we elect get to make decisions, not activist judges.

Yes the argument of why didn't they block the construction of the original facility if this was about the environment holds true. They built on top of the concrete already in place. Those activist judges might be in for a rude awakening if the midterms go as expected and the republicans gain Senate seats. I would love to see some judicial impeachments.

And ... Gators gotta eat too...same as worms!
