My podcasts choices sometimes cause me dismay

But mostly, they just confirm that the only consistent character trait of the conservative party is that they have spent at least the last 75 years creating stupid, harmful and down right idiotic moral panics that never needed to exist.

The conservatove party is filled with chicken headed asshats who couldn't be bothered with things like reality and facts as long as they can make the people froth at the mouth in fear. 🙄

Disgusting. Even more so that the people in their influence just keep falling over and over again in fear of things that aren't real or actually happening.

No wonder conservatives want to rewrite history. It's the one thing they know how to do well.

We are marketed to. People spend years studying what drives people to buy. Not necessarily merchandise.
Instilling fear and hatred is a very good way to manipulate. People will do things that damage themselves if they hate enough or are afraid.
This is what creates cults. Small ones. Massive ones.
There is no sense creating all that without a savior to rescue them.
And, here we are...

@Carla Isn't that the sad truth.

I guess i have higher hopes for people in that I would like to think they would start to catch on and realize they've been round that traffic circle before and the scenery looks extremely similar that isn't where they wanted to be.

But alas...they just keep driving round and round, unable to turn off on a diagonal to find something that isn't eerily the same.

It's no wonder cults are so populous. We are just too easily forced into the eternal traffic circle without questioning where the end of the trip will be.

@FoxyQueen i think forced is the wrong word. Enticed, maybe.

@Carla Fair point.

@FoxyQueen We all know about the bubble they live in. They've heard of it but don't believe it's a real thing. They stay inside where they comfort and support to each other. Not being the smartest among us they simply cannot find their way out.

@MoveAlong The sad thing is, all they have to do is provide just a small amount of logic for that bubble to burst.
