I'm not sure Cassidy resigning would be a good thing. He's about to lose re-election anyway to one of several more loyal Trumpists, precisely because he hestitated before voting Kennedy in.
Plus, as bad as a replacement chosen by Louisiana voters might be, if there's any chance Governor Landry could appoint someone, they'd almost certainly be worse.

@KunsanVeteran I get your point as well.
This is why Trump burns through lawyers and why eventually, everyone in the executive branch has to choose between loyalty to the Constitution and the man.
I'm all for Cassidy renouncing Kennedy, but resigning afterwards I'm not so sure about. He does NOT serve at Trump's pleasure, and I doubt the Hippocratic Oath demands that once he hurt his patient, he should walk out of the operating room and let the guy bleed out.
Does that make sense?

@MistyCee What you are talking about there is abandoning a patient—very, very different set of circumstances.
Physicians pride ourselves on being largely self policing. That’s why he should resign.

@KunsanVeteran It's different because it's abandoning the public as opposed to one patient?
I'm not a physician, but I am a Louisiana voter, and I have zero confidence that the Governor would appoint anyone that would offend Trump and not much more confidence that anyone better suited to the office than Cassidy would be elected by Louisiana voters.

RFK jr wants to announce in Sept that certain vaccines cause autism. And he wants CDC staff to sign off on this. But there's no research that says that.
In response, CDC staff are being fired and/or resigning in droves. They won't join RFK jr's dangerous conspiracy theory. Kudos to these brave health professionals who value American lives above their jobs.

@ElwoodBlues Correct. And when you look at what vaccines he’s especially targeting, the negative impacts will be catastrophic.
He must be stopped and held accountable. The fact he’s mentally unstable is not a sufficient justification to allow him to escape responsibility for his actions!
