The trouble with Socialism is that some people just WILL NOT stop consuming free stuff!!

Like when I see a drinking fountain, I drink the free water without stopping until I die of hyponatremia.

It’s no secret in US that those who get food for free are often the most obese. When it’s free people will hyper consume
@AthrillatheHunt
those who get food for free are often the most obese.

Ah but is that actually true...?
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@wishforthenight Yes . Oftentimes .
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@wishforthenight 40% of SNAP recipients are obese . That counts as often for me. I invite you to check that
EBSVC · 36-40, T
@AthrillatheHunt You mean the same percentage of all Americans that are obese? So it’s exactly proportional to the general population…
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@EBSVC you think 100% of people not on SNAP are paying for their own food ?
EBSVC · 36-40, T
@AthrillatheHunt You’re the one who brought it up like it was significant. So walk me through what you’re trying to say and why that percentage matters

@EBSVC I’m good thanks

SNAP Benefits can be used to buy:

Any food for the household, such as:
Fruits and vegetables;
Meat, poultry, and fish;
Dairy products;
Breads and cereals;
Other foods such as snack foods and non-alcoholic beverages; and
Seeds and plants, which produce food for the household to eat.

Households CANNOT use SNAP benefits to buy:
Beer, wine, and liquor.
Cigarettes and tobacco.
Food and drinks containing controlled substances such as cannabis/marijuana and CBD.
Vitamins, medicines, and supplements. If an item has a Supplement Facts label, it is considered a supplement and is not eligible for SNAP purchase.
Live animals (except shellfish, fish removed from water, and animals slaughtered prior to pick-up from the store).
Foods that are hot at the point of sale.
Any nonfood items such as:
Pet foods
Cleaning supplies, paper products, and other household supplies.
Hygiene items and cosmetics

This is not FREE FOOD. They are not being told to go out and buy unlimited quantities of their favorite junk.

Also, it is well known that "healthy" foods are a lot more expensive, and that people on low-incomes can often only afford cheaper more calorie dense foods, even with SNAP.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@wishforthenight if you think it’s not free food I don’t think we’ll ever be able to see eye to eye on this. I respect your POV
@AthrillatheHunt The way you phrased it is bizarre, in that case.

Saying people "hyper consume" implies that they consume Colossal amounts of food. SNAP does not allow people to buy colossal amounts of food.

Also, is there such a thing as free healthcare?
oldguy73 · 70-79, M
@AthrillatheHunt those who get free food are people that refuse to work, i have seen those people, jogging, do every day ordinary things, but they get pregnant, then can't work, or fake some illness, or anything they can do, then welfare black guy selling drugs moves in , a big scam, they sell their snap benefits to people then buy booze.
@oldguy73 And you can provide evidence to back up everything you've said, of course?

Didn't think so.

Your opinion is irrelevant.
@AthrillatheHunt no, but Mom's number of work hours outside the home correlates with the extra fat, fat, fat on her and get kids. No alternatives! You work more than any population ever!
@wishforthenight no, but those who work most in jobs have the fattest kids.
