British liberals

Some of my liberal minded friends have turned to the right of centre in the past month or so .
It’s all about ‘ illegal ‘ immigration’.
If government don’t sort it , I fear for the future of the UK

I know what you mean. I woke up this morning to find Union Jack flags strung along one of the main roads of our town. It has never been a British thing to do that. It reminded me of the dog that marks its territory by urinating on the bottom of the lamp post. I don't know anybody's motives, but I think there's a lot of mendacity in what people are saying about why they're doing this.

On a practical note, I don't know that the lamp post are able to cope with flags flying in strong wind. They're not designed for that.
