Once again, democrats missed the memo

I feel like the Democrat running for governor in VA has not understood the right thing to campaign on.

She is promising more teachers and better pay, but seems to not be aware that youngkin got in office on strong anti-education policies.

It just seems like a weird angle to try to win on when the state has shown previously it wants to destroy public education.

If she stays on this talking point, she will lose.

@Musicman Enthusiastic about the decline of education in America?
Musicman · 61-69, M
@FoxyQueen Nope! It's improvement actually. I take it you are not familiar with what happened in Virginia.

@FoxyQueen Loudon County, in your blue half of the state, was pushing through some heavy liberal agendas in the schools. When parents showed up to the school board meeting and questioned them the school board demanded the parents be declared domestic terrorists. Come election time every one on that school board was voted out of office in a landslide. Feel free to Google it. It made all the headlines.

@Musicman I like how you assume I'm in a blue county. What was wrong with the "liberal agendas"? What were they pushing?
Musicman · 61-69, M
@FoxyQueen The LGBT agenda in elementary school. Here is what Biden did about it.

@Musicman okay lol first off, that's Briebart News Lol that's like saying The World Weekly News is real lol

Second, I have no problem with LGBTQA+ people and think they deserve space to exist in the world.

May I suggest you change your news sources lol I'm sorry.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@FoxyQueen I don't use that source. It was just the first one that came up on Google. I don't have a big problem with them either. We have a good friend who is gay and married to another man. I don't think that needs to be taught in elementary school though and I don't believe that they should bring in Drag Queens for story hour either.

@FoxyQueen We clearly have different beliefs. Keep voting Democrat and I'll keep voting Conservative. Do you believe it was okay for the parents to be declared domestic terrorists for questioning the school boards?
FoxyQueen · 51-55, F
@Musicman you do you man, I just won't support it.

@Musicman Lol! I think that was an exaggeration. We are too willing to weaponize postions.

The fact that you consider your stance on Trans and drag people as a "belief" means, you really don't understand what you believe because those aren't things that you believe in or not. They are actual things that are dictated by genetics and chemistry. They are facts, not some ephemeral thing where someone says, "I think I'll be the opposite sex today". Trans people don't just change on a whim. It is something that is done with a lot of thought, therapy and self discovery, something a lot of people literally don't have the cahones to do. Transpeople are some of the strongest people I know that they dare to be authentically who they are despite uneducated people having a moral panic over a dichotomy that didn't actually exist till the 80's.

Drag queens and Kings do so because they enjoy it, they can be a whole other persona, just like actors and actresses, but they can enjoy the different sides of themselves through clothes and make up. Amazingly a lot like acting, don't you think? Do you attack actors and actresses for playing roles in shows and movies? Of course not. So why are you with people in drag?

It's such a ridiculous and truly uneducated position to follow conservative ideas on trans and drag. I literally can't have respect for those who allow themselves to be led by nothing more than a nothingburger made into a huge deal because people refuse to understand what they are afraid of.

Are you scare of thunder and the dark too?
Musicman · 61-69, M
@FoxyQueen Nope! Just people that believe like you do.
FoxyQueen · 51-55, F
@Musicman We obviously aren't going to get along. Have a good life.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@FoxyQueen Before you go would you please answer my question. Do you believe it was okay to declare the parents who showed up to the school board meetings to question what was happening domestic terrorists?
FoxyQueen · 51-55, F
@Musicman I already answered that as that it was an exaggerated reaction due to a useless moral panic about things people refuse to understand.
Fallflower · 46-50, F
@FoxyQueen God I couldn’t agree with you more enthusiastically about all this.
