‘The President Was Never Inappropriate With Anybody,’ Maxwell Tells DOJ
Ghislaine Maxwell has broken her silence from prison, telling a top US Justice Department figure she never witnessed Donald Trump behave inappropriately and had no knowledge of any “client list” linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The comments came during a two-day interview last month with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, a transcript of which was made public today amid ongoing political pressure in Washington over the handling of the Epstein investigation.
“I never witnessed the President in any appropriate setting in any way,” Maxwell told Mr Blanche during the conversation.
“The President was never inappropriate with anybody.”
In the newly released transcript, Maxwell also said she had never seen Mr Trump receive a massage - an activity central to the prosecution’s case against both Epstein and herself.
“As far as I'm concerned, President Trump was always very cordial and very kind to me,” she told Mr Blanche.
“And I just want to say that I admire his extraordinary achievement in becoming the President now.”
Maxwell also dismissed the idea that she was aware of any client list.
