I was listening to a podcast about the whole Tipper Gore thing and I have always remembered that line in "A Room with a View" because it seemed so out of place from the rest of the movie. When I saw the movie came out in 85, which means it was being made at the start of the music nonsense, it all fell into place! Lol

And just like the FBI raid on John Bolton's home had nothing to do with retribution for criticism (honest, bigly honest), I'm sure the PMRC actions toward Zappa also had nothing to do with him criticizing the whole exercise ....
