I greatly appreciate

Ivory Merchant being politically topical with this quote:

Merchant Ivory, actually, I believe - but point taken. 😀 I shall stick to Brahms and Liszt.

@FreddieUK Oops! You're correct! I always get that production company's name reversed lol

I love that it was their jab at Tipper Gore and her whole issue with music.
@FoxyQueen sounds like the PMRC putting an explicit lyrics label on a Frank Zappa album that was ... instrumental

And just like the FBI raid on John Bolton's home had nothing to do with retribution for criticism (honest, bigly honest), I'm sure the PMRC actions toward Zappa also had nothing to do with him criticizing the whole exercise ....
Beethoven is Awesome
@FoxyQueen I remember those senate hearings well, Dee Snider was the only one testifying in his streetwear, while others dressed as squares

@NativePortlander1970 He was more articulate and relevant than anyone else in that room, with the exception of John Denver and Frank Zappa.

I was listening to a podcast about the whole Tipper Gore thing and I have always remembered that line in "A Room with a View" because it seemed so out of place from the rest of the movie. When I saw the movie came out in 85, which means it was being made at the start of the music nonsense, it all fell into place! Lol
@FoxyQueen I could see Denver dressing up, but not Zappa, he was too gonzo
