Why are the European nations in NATO spoiling for war with Russia?

Fighter jets from NATO nations, including Poland and Sweden, were scrambled after Russia launched long-range missile strikes in Ukraine overnight.

Polish and allied aircraft have begun operations, and ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems have reached the highest state of readiness. Gripen fighter jets belonging to Sweden's air force, some of which are stationed in Poland, "helped ensure safety in Polish skies tonight" the Polish military said.

The problem lies in the hatred exported to the US by immigrants from Europe. My Polish maid, a 50 year old American citizen, said she hated Russians. She had lived in Poland under the USSR until she was 17 when the Iron Curtain fell.

[@sree21]this is why i am alarmed about this coalition of the willing idea that come from our prime minister and backed by european countries to protect security of ukraime and europe from big bad vlad. if there ever is a cease fire or end of war in ukraine do they think putin will ever agree to having european nato member have boots on the ground in ukraine on putins doorstep . this is maybe a stumblig block to ending this war . it is fraught with danger with miscalculation on both side or the other could end as a shooting match or worse put this coalition of the willing idea where it belongs starmer in the bin

@smiler2012 Other NATO members share a border with Russia.

Putin breaks every agreement. He can't be trusted.

Putin wants Ukraine and will take it if he's allowed to.

@JSul3 yes true but not even putin is crazy or ambitious enough to invade a nato country this is wwhy trump has put a block on ukraine joining nato as by article is it five or six that say any attack on a nato country is an attack on one and all. this is risking escalation spiralling out of control and world war three
JSul3 · 70-79
@smiler2012 So, we let Putin take Ukraine?
smiler2012 · 61-69
@JSul3 that is my opinion i am not an politition it is a very difficult situation there are diplomats who will need to try and work out a deal that suits all sides and any security for ukraine all sides can agree on that is acceptable to all parties
JSul3 · 70-79
@smiler2012 I do not expect any help from Trump.

Ukraine's future is in the hands of the Ukrainian people and their allies in Europe.

Slava Ukraine!
smiler2012 · 61-69
@JSul3 it is the sort of help our european partners are offering that is worrying troops on the ground in ukraine dor security is dangerous

What happened to the UK after Margaret Thatcher? Your country went downhill with Tony Blair. There was a time when men would raise their glasses "to England!"

It's amusing that putin claimed he didn't want NATO near him... and now his murderous aggression has resulted in russia's border with NATO more than doubling 😂

Not you and your friends, perhaps. However, Trump is now the center of the world of public opinion.

@smiler2012 On a separate post under this question I pointed out to you the 1994 Budapest Memorandum treaty that Putin explicitly violated by invading Ukraine. Because Russia casually violates treaties, even those made with the US, European nations don't expect Putin to hold to any new treaties either.

That's why Ukraine is requiring "security assurances." Because otherwise, Russia will treat the next peace agreement as a timeout during which it can buy more high tech from the US, replenish its weapons supplies, and then re-invade at leisure.

There can be no lasting peace without consequences for Russia. And consequences are exactly what tRump is avoiding (despite saying the opposite a week ago).

will a devious putin try and play trump for a fool
Putin has been doing so since 2016!!!
