Carville: Democrats have to add states, expand Supreme Court to ‘save democracy’

Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville on Thursday suggested Democrats should add two states to the country and expand the Supreme Court in order to “save democracy.”

“They are just going to have to unilaterally add Puerto Rico and District of Columbia as states, … They’re just going to have to do it. And they may have to expand the [Supreme Court] to 13 members,” Carville said during a Thursday podcast episode.

But I'd go further on adding States:
District of Columbia
Puerto Rico
...and...
American Samoa
Guam
Northern Mariana Islands
U.S. Virgin Islands

A Democratic-controlled Congress MUST make it simple and honor the will of the voters in those territories and possessions, with binding legislation.

"Should ______ become a U.S. State, with its citizens afforded all the rights and privilges of those citizens in other States, or maintain its current status?"

No complicated trickery like Congress has done in the past re: Puerto Rico. If voters there want Puerto Rito become a State, then become a State it shall be.
