Harris dominates in poll on who Democrats want as president - with AOC tied for third

Former Vice President Kamala Harris topped a new poll on who Democrats would back in the 2028 presidential primary if it was held today, with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) in third place.

Harris was backed by 36% of Democrat and Democrat-leaning voters in Morning Consult’s latest poll.

Harris had more than triple the support of former transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg, who was second with 10%.

Harris’s former running-mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, was also tied with Ocasio-Cortez at five percent, as was California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

Billionaire Mark Cuban and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro were both next with four percent each.

At this point it's nothing more than name recognition. And of course everyone recognizes Harris. They either voted for her or voted against her.

Only person that I am against on that list is Gavin Newsom. Cuban and Shapiro don't even have a chance. No billionaire would have a chance on the Democratic ticket. Including Oprah if she ran. And she won't.

Newsom is close to being a moderate (Normal not fanatical) Republican. In fact, I can see the Lincoln project supporting Newsom.

Bernie I'm afraid is way too old.😔 So is Walz. Yeah I know Walz is younger than me. He looks far older than me. I don't have white hair. Nor do I dye it.

That just leaves three: Harris, Buttigieg and AOC.

I am a democrat, an elected official, and someone who cannot stand the narcissistic, childish person now in the white house. But please, let's not make the same mistakes as last election. Harris and Cortez and not electable, sad to say. We need to win!!
@Docdon23 Cortez is super popular. Harris was never well-liked.

@Docdon23 I agree with that statement, with all due respect to Harris and Cortez.

Harris and Cortez and not electable

Every time a non-incumbant loses (regardless of party), detractors always seem to say it was because the nominee was a bad candidate and that a different nominee would have won.

If Kerry wasn't the nominee, if McCain wasn't the nominee, if Romney wasn't the nominee, if Hillary wasn't, if Harris wasn't...

Kerry came within one state of winning (Ohio) and the last two within a MLB ballpark crowd (of flipped votes).

But if about 50,000 combined votes flipped in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania, Kamala Harris would be president today.

Same with Hillary in the 2016 election. And then it would have been the Republicans saying Trump was a bad choice who "wasn't electable."

Hopefully, the Democrats have learned backing a poor candidate to make a statement about, "it's about time for a woman to break the glass ceiling" as well-meaning as it may be, does not win elections. Neither Harris, Oprah, Michelle Obama, or Maryann Williams is up for the task. The Democrats need to be laser focused on winning without taking yet another detour on the path of good intentions and good feelings.
As terrible as she is, she probably would win against literally any Republican after Trump. Though we still don't know how free and fair elections are going to be now.

Great! Now the nation is plucked clean, gutted, stuffed and ready for the oven, they want to give it to a woman, presumably so she can take the blame..😷

@beckyromero Pay no attention to him Becky. He is fixated on me and needs validation wherever he can get it, having nothing to add to the debate himself.. Doesnt bother me in the slightest and clearly doesnt see how it makes him look to all but the lesser MAGAts..😷

@jackjjackson And yet I am not in the least hostile to you jacko. There may well be a good reason for your special needs. In which case I should have some sympathy and understanding. I am sure you have enough to concern yourself with. I do my best to forget you exist..😷

Governor Pritzker
JD Vance in 2028 and 2032 landslides. Three more big beautiful bills between now and the 2028 election. At least.

He should kick on his 2028 campaign at a dog and cat fry in Springfield, OH.
