I kissed a Mexican Watermelon and I liked it.
I used to always get watermelons that came from the US. But now because of Trump’s ridiculous tariffs I now get them from Mexico. So I agree with Mr. Lee the global economy will go on – minus one.
Cheers and happy weekend!

That's very true. As I've said before, "no one stops progress," so in the hands of this administration, the US gets left behind.

Trump thought (and still thinks) he could take a sledgehammer and change other countries trade policies. He's been awful quiet on the subject for a while. I guess there is some kind of confusing deadline in play.

@MoveAlong Trump has the attention span of a toddler. Jingle something shiny in front of him and he will be discracted and forget about what...Oh Look! Car Keys!😷

This is what every country is quietly doing - he's just early to say it out loud.

@DealingWithTrouble Agreed.. But I suspect this message hasnt leaked back to America at large yet..😷

Mister Lee's sentiments are precisely what PM Mark Carney of Canada has said repeatedly, that it won't be Canada that sits out the dance without a partner, it will be the drunk elephant that lives south of the 49th.
Carney was very blunt with Canadians after his first few talks with Trump, where Carney got on national TV and told Canadians that Trump is trying to sink Canada economically, so the time has come to take up arms.... meaning elbows up, which means the dirty way to play hockey.

@jshm2 Yes. Its been slowly happening for some time now.. But unlike certain American presidents who shall remain nameless, there has been no fanfares and beating of the chest. Just trade happening and American losing out. And as Lee says, these things cant be just cancelled and taken back. These changes are long term..😷

@jshm2 Almost no one outside America expected him to be back..😷

In all honesty, Tяump could care less if the US became a Third World Country, as long as he remained the leader and could play the victim till the day he passed away.

the entire world and media are giving him exactly what he wants...a bigger audience...nothing more. just like everyone on youtube, they LOVE to hear themselves talk

@lpthehermit The thing I think you are missing is that Singapore is a global trade hub. Batting way above its weight. A kind of Asian trade "Switzerland".. And to be taken seriously..😷

As usual tonto you misrepresented what the gentlemen in that clip actually state when they get down to substance.
Fortune magazine states:
THAT NOT YOUR FALSEHOODS IS THE REALITY OF WHAT IS HAPPENING. THE US IS THE WORLD’S LARGEST MARKET AND SELLERS HAVE DONE WHAT THEY HAVE TO DO TO CONTINUE TO SELL IN THE US. ALL TO THE BENEFIT OF PATRIOTIC US CITIZEN TAXPAYERS AND CERTAINLY NOT THE BENEFIT OF A LYING FOREIGNER TROLLER LIKE YOU TONTO
Fortune magazine states:
Still, tariffs can hurt foreign countries by making their products pricier and harder to sell abroad. Foreign companies might have to cut prices — and sacrifice profits — to offset the tariffs and try to maintain their market share in the United States. Yang Zhou, an economist at Shanghai’s Fudan University, concluded in a study that Trump’s tariffs on Chinese goods inflicted more than three times as much damage to the Chinese economy as they did to the U.S. economy.

@jackjjackson Two kinds of people... those who make it happen, and those who wonder what just happened.
america was the first kind... and is now becoming the second kind.

Fortune Magazine is an American-published magazine that is based in New York City. So yes, I can see how the opinion of Fortune would sound very persuasive indeed to Fortune's target audience whom of course are Americans. Good point you make!
Forbes Magazine on the other hand, is a magazine that presents articles that are all about making money, whereas Fortune Magazine is a magazine that presents articles that are all about business management.
I find it interesting how the quote you provided from Fortune Magazine so very bravely crossed the aisle and gave to it's reading audience what sounds like a very objective opinion about business economics at the government level, not business management at Fortune's usual corporate level.

@jackjjackson Clearly you were not listening to the clip at all. The subject was not about damage to the Chinese (or any other economy) It was about the eventual outcome of any single countries efforts to use tariffs in the manner America currently is and how to minimize the damage to all other nations. And as he put it, move on globally, minus one. But I dont mind how you misinterpret his words..The numbers dont lie. America is down over a Trillion in trade deals as of now and inflation is up while a recession looms..I prefer to read the numbers, rather than believe your opinion.😷
