@whowasthatmaskedman You must understand the nature of the entertainment business. It's all based on the product.

Colbert's product is totally against Republicans, so much so there's no going back to a lesser version, than what he was back then. Murdock can't afford that type of negativity. Nor can Fox.

Colbert is the most controversial of all the late night shows. Not Kimmel, not Fallon, none are as controversial.

It's why Colbert was getting the big bucks. And why Skydance media didn't want him. They trying to be independent politically.

If a independent doesn't want him, Fox and Murdock most certainly won't.

@DeWayfarer I agree with most of this. Except that while Paramount are friendly to Trump (As evidenced by their $16 Million gift) Skydance are even more friedly to him and both need his blessing on the merger deal. "Business is business"..But as I said at the start. This is one for the conspiracy theorists..😷

@DeWayfarer Paramount did nothing to apologize for. As Colbert said quite directly. It was a bribe.. But the very publicity this has caused has drawn the attention of Colberts competition and maybe shifted the balance. we will see,,😷

@DeWayfarer OK.. I accept your premise. On that basis Paramount have set Trump up as a patsy. Bribed him publicly without admitting fault and set a moral high ground for the other networks to stand their ground, while showing him as an extortionist to the public and publicizing his Epstein links. So maybe Colbert gets invited back and Trump gets the flick..😷
