Taxes paid by Churches: $0
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@MrBrownstone What taxes do you think churches should pay?
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@SunshineGirl Road tax. Police tax. Firefighter tax.

@MrBrownstone I don't know about the US, but in Britain churches are tax exempt because they provide socially useful services to the whole community and are not run for profit. They often also take on the financial liability of maintaining historical buildings. As soon as they start to restrict access to church services, etc (as with the Scientologists) they lose that exemption.

@MrBrownstone Do the individuals who make up the churches not pay those taxes?
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@FreddieUK No idea.
