Our intelligence on the Soviets was wrong (and our nuclear secrets compromised by traitors).

We missed the opportunity to prevent China from getting the bomb (thanks to Eisenhower)

We blew the opportunity to stop North Korea (again, thanks to Eisenhower first and foremost, among others)

We DID at least stop Iraq.

@beckyromero I‘m genuinely curious, because I‘ve never really considered it. What would’ve been your game plan to stop the Chinese from acquiring the bomb? Coercive diplomacy followed by an aerial campaign if that had failed?
